Poke Burri / Lifting Noodles offers a specialized menu focusing on customizable and innovative Japanese-inspired dishes, along with comforting ramen.
Casual Counter Service: The restaurant operates with a "mini food hall vibe," meaning it's a "walk in, grab a menu, and grab a table" kind of place. Customers order at a counter, and food is then brought to the table. This streamlined service is designed for efficiency.
Customizable Poke Bowls: A key offering is the "Build Your Own Bowl," allowing customers to select their base (rice, spring mix), protein (tuna, salmon, chicken, tofu, crab salad, shrimp tempura), various fresh vegetables and toppings (avocado, edamame, seaweed salad, beets, carrots, cucumber, cabbage), and a wide array of sauces (spicy mayo, eel sauce, sriracha teriyaki, sweet chili peanut sauce, ginger miso dressing, wasabi mayo). This provides a highly personalized meal.
Signature Sushi Burritos: These innovative, large sushi rolls are designed to be eaten like a burrito. Options include "Best of the Best Burrito" (salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, crab salad), "Philly Special" (salmon, crab salad, cream cheese), "Devil Roll" (spicy tuna, shrimp tempura), "Kungfu Rrito" (tuna, salmon, sriracha teriyaki), and vegetarian/vegan options like "Uncle Iroh" (crispy tofu). While the online menu allows for custom sushi burritos, the in-store menu primarily features custom poke bowls, so it’s best to confirm this directly.
Ramen Noodles: Lifting Noodles, their co-located concept, offers a selection of ramen bowls, including "Spicy Miso," "Village Classic Bowl," "Angry Zuko Bowl," "1-Up Bowl" (vegetarian/vegan), "Chicken Bowl," and "Spicy Seafood Bowl." These bowls typically come with noodles, broth, and various toppings like roasted pork, black mushroom, corn, bamboo shoots, and a marinated soft-boiled egg.
Unique Sushi Innovations: Beyond burritos, Poke Burri is known for its "sushi donuts" (circular discs of rice topped with fish and sauces) and has a "Secret Menu" that can feature creative items like sushi pizza, sushi corndogs, and sushi sandwiches, for those seeking something truly adventurous.
Appetizers and Sides: The menu includes starters like Fried Gyoza (pork dumplings), Spicy Tuna Nachos, Crispy Veggie Spring Rolls, Wakame Salad (seaweed salad), Crab Salad Crunch, and Tokyo Fries.
Beverages and Desserts: A selection of drinks like Matcha Lemonade, Dragon Fruit Lemonade, and Thai Iced Tea are available. They also offer unique desserts like Taiyaki (fish-shaped ice cream sandwiches).
Takeout and Online Ordering: Food is available for takeout, and customers can order online through various platforms, making it convenient for those who prefer to dine at home or on the go.

Specific, regularly advertised promotions for Poke Burri / Lifting Noodles are not widely detailed, as the restaurant operates with a more casual, quick-service model. However, their official website is known to feature a "Secret Menu," which contains unique and potentially limited-time offerings like sushi pizza or sushi corndogs. This acts as a consistent "special offer" for adventurous eaters. Poke Burri / Lifting Noodles Reviews
Bottom Line:I’d only recommend this place if you’re already hanging at Town Green(Downtown Duluth). Decent food but a bit pricier than what I think it’s worth. The building itself is called the Sweet Octopus. It seemingly houses four different businesses(although they may just be four distinct menus with the same business): Poke Burri, Lifting Noodles Ramen, Thai & Sushi, and Empanadas House(second floor). The first two menus are served inside on the first floor. I’m not sure about the Thai & Sushi Menu.I thought I saw on the online menu that you could create your own sushi burrito, but the menu at the restaurant only has custom poke bowls.Go online to their website to see the Secret Menu. I would have tried the sushi pizza from that menu but I was ordering takeout, so maybe next time.Atmosphere:Very nice and comfortable. Outdoor seating available, plenty of natural sunlight indoors, medium noise level from the kitchen, very spacious. Strings of lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling.Food:I got an order of Fried Gyoza for my appetizer. Four pieces for with gyoza sauce for $5 was a fair price. The dough was a bit stale and the sauce was more sweet than I’m used to, but the pork filling was great.I got the $16 Best of the Best Burrito for my entree. I feel like they could drop the price a few bucks. $16 for what I got didn’t really seem worth it. Another review said the burritos were the size of egg rolls. They’re definitely bigger than that. Mine filled me up. The fish tasted pretty fresh to my surprise. On the other hand, it wasn't that tender. I pulled a long strip of salmon out of the burrito with my teeth because I couldn't bite into it. It was also so sweet. Looking at the ingredients, it should not be sweet. I didn’t like it very much. If it were better, I’d still find a $12-$13 price tag more reasonable.Service:There wasn’t much to say about this as it was a fast food restaurant. The server was an average server. I didn’t bother checking the cleanliness of the tables since I ordered takeout. My food came out in a reasonable amount of time.Overall:I do agree this place is slightly overpriced, but that was just for my burrito. The poke bowls definitely looked very overpriced. I wouldn’t come for those. This entire area is meant to stroll through to relax. If you’re already here, the sushi burrito can be fun for kids or a date. That’s what I would recommend you visit this restaurant for. If you’re looking for a poke bowl, you can very likely get a good bowl elsewhere for a much lower price. Definitely wouldn’t go out of my way for this place if I were craving sushi but out of rare convenience, I would.
Jul 12, 2023 · BLUThe food: The sushi burrito and sushi donut was so delicious (yum)! The spicy tuna nachos was also amazing!! Loved everything! The vybz: It’s a cute mini food hall vibe. Please note that it’s inside of a two story building and there is no sign outside. You walk in, grab a menu, and grab a table. When you’re ready to order you walk up to the desk and order. It’s not a “greet you when you come in” kinda place, but the staff is friendly. Everything was clean and it’s definitely a cool “let’s grab a cool lunch/dinner” type of place.
Dec 31, 2022 · Drina MinottIf you don’t know you could miss it but this is definitely not something you want to miss! Poke Burri is Inside of Sweet Octopus! The staff is friendly and helpful and the food tastes as amazing as it looks! I will be bringing friends and family back to try it. What a wonderful addition to Duluth.p
