RAKKAN Ramen - Tustin Reviews
I went to this restaurant with my brother because he said that the one he tried in LA was really good. It turned out to be such a disappointment because the soup was salty, oily, and filled with so much garlic flavor. They really need to reconsider adjusting the garlic amount in the ramen. I am a big fan of garlic but this is just too much. I feel like I was eating garlic rather than ramen. The staff is nice but the waiting is long from waiting to get your order in and making it.Overall, I won't recommend this restaurant, at least this branch.
Jan 01, 2025 · Tien NguyenI think Rakkan was a decent spot for vegetarians who want to have ramen without sacrificing texture and flavor. There’s plenty of seating and service was pretty quick. I’m not sure if I’d come back though.⚪️Quartz: Waiter personally recommended this. I think the broth was rich and savory. It definitely felt slightly creamier/richer than other broths I’ve had. The noodles were the other highlight being well-cooked so that they were bouncy and just a bit chewy. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to find more ramen after every mouthful. The rest of the toppings like the pork, broccolini and seaweed were a bit disappointing though. The pork was thankfully not cooked to the point of being dry but was still soft and easy to have. But it felt like I was eating a slab of chicken breast than your usual chashu. Maybe if they tried using thighs instead?🍗Karage: There was a light crispy layer on the outside but inside was a bit too dry. Not bad though.🍟Furikake Fries: Skip this one honestly. Just felt like plain fries from anywhere. The furikake didn’t really add any flavor to the fries. A bit disappointing.Ambiance: wants to feel bougie but the sticky menu said otherwise
Feb 03, 2025 · Cheok Meng LawI got spicy ramen (the last one in the list) and it was pretty good. The portions are adequate, I didn’t feel like I was gonna explode, but I felt comfortably full. They have a lot of vegetarian options. The prices are on the higher side though, probably due to its location. Otherwise it’s pretty good.
Nov 14, 2024 · Maxim IvchenkoSolid 2.5There was only one worker in front of the restaurant. Maybe 2-3 in the kitchen. Food took SO LONG to come out. That was the biggest downside. There were a couple of people that were picking up, and they took priority over the people who were sitting down in the.Food was ok, there was something crispy that was added on top. It should not be added as it gets really soggy. The broths are light and over all the ramen were a solid 3.However, I will not be returning.
May 26, 2025 · Bad WolfMy daughter likes the ramen, and the pork buns are good. I like the thin noodles, grilled pork and that it's close to the house, but the service is good on days, not so good on others. They are nice enough, but I'm always waiting for something, I think they have a staffing or scheduling problem.
