Ramen Kabukiya Reviews
3.3 stars.Stopped in during lunch while in the area. The flavors of my childhood were calling especially for the wonderful dish - mapo tofu. Spicy Sichuan tofu and minced meat in a hot, oily, and aromatic sauce just sounded amazing. Ramen Kabukiya had it on the menu so I decided to try it.I ordered via the self serve kiosk and waited patiently. No less than 5 minutes later, it was ready. Visually, it was anemic in color as I was accustomed to seeing a deeper, fiery red mix of peppercorn, chili flakes with green scallions sprinkled on top. As expected, the flavor was not intense nor spicy. Portion size was fair and in line with the price charged.Employee was very friendly and upbeat. Surroundings were nothing special as it is a food court inside a Japanese grocery store.Maybe this was a one-off for Ramen Kabukiya… maybe another visit is necessary to reassess. Time will tell.
April 18 · M ChuMissing Japan, we stopped by a Japanese store and grabbed a bite at Ramen Kabukiya. We had the curry mazemen and the original mazemen with bamboo and baby bok choy. Since it was a hot day, we skipped ramen and anything spicy. The dishes were very flavorful and loaded with scallions, though both felt a bit salty…maybe because we’re used to a lower-salt diet. Still, it was fun to try something that brought back a bit of that Japan flavor we love.
March 23 · Ein Q.Cute little place in the Mitsuwa food court! Got the tonkotsu black ramen which was really good :) staff was very kind and helpful, and got my food pretty quickly. Highly recommend!
April 01 · kezAll the foods were mediocre. Not terrible, but not great. Meats were kinda dry.Their fried rice, definitely was the one of the worst fried rice.
December 17 · Tim AWe got the creamy vegan ramen and didn’t expect much, however it was outstanding, especially the broth which had a garlicky kick. The noodles were chewy and plentiful and the man at the counter was so friendly and kind. I would love to eat this over and over again. Even if you’re not a vegan, you’ll probably love it. It really hit the spot on the cold, windy night.
