Ryo Sushi Reviews
Pros:Feature some of the most, if not traditional, classical North American Japanese-inspired "sushi" related dishes. You won't find anything you will consider "exotic" unless this is your first experience with the concept of Far East delicacies.Peaceful area with a very good massive level of insulation and low noise pollution for such a small area adjacent to the rush if the CTA train stops less than a minute away. The food quality is beyond what 1 would normally expect from a location such as this making it a good choice for those just craving a sushi fix.Cons:There is no excuse for a uses towel to be chillin in a bathroom corner.....The floor and chair combination is a legitimate discomfort and hindrance to their high-quality calming in restaurant aesthetics.Tile floor with wood chairs having no protective elements on the feet coupled with the dreads SLIGHT love seat style for the booth meaning you may slide off onto the clean floor. But if that's the worst thing I can say about this location that should let you know your money is well spent. The staff also can take orders in Japanese! If you're gonna go with a group, you can or if you want to go after a long day of work to someplace quiet and peaceful for a small taste of the far east, look no further...
May 15 · Zax PearsonIn town for meetings and found this place close to the hotel. I came here around 5:30pm and it's already 2/3 full with people meetup after work.I went for the cold+hot combo (sashimi regular and vegetable udon). The sashimi are fresh and presented in a dry ice bowl. It satisfied my cravings. The hot udon soup was because it was still chilly outside and needed to warm up a little.
May 01 · RayThe Maki combo $34 was just right for 2 people. 4 rolls (tuna, salmon, green dragon which is eel, shrimp tempura) were done just right and it came out w dry ice which added a nice fun touch to it. The servers were very attentive and friendly. The food came out very fast. The food was good and fresh. The ambience is good and it’s a very central location to downtown on Madison and Michigan. Overall a perfect experience. I just wish the seats were more comfortable bc it’s all wooden chairs. It’s more a fast food place than a restaurant so if you need to eat and go this is a great sushi place.
November 25 · karina kA wonderful little sushi spot right near Millennium Park with delicious, fresh sushi and appetizers. The seaweed salad was a sleeper hit.We had the Sushi Combo lunch special and a few extra rolls. More than enough food and expertly prepared. We did find the miso soup to be a little bland, but everything else was superb.Service was fast and super friendly!
March 18 · V BowdenDelicious and beautiful rolls, just look at the picture 💖 I was impressed with this presentation. This was my second time at this restaurant. Next trip to Chicago I will be back!
