I had the Dragon Roll, Godzilla Roll, Crab Rangoon and Hot Green Tea. I was promptly greeted by one of the owners when I walked in. She gave me a menu and told me to have a sit wherever I like. I placed my order and it came out in stages. First the tea and crab rangoon followed by one roll at a time. Everything was hot, cooked to order, great attention to detail. I found that the husband (co-owner) made my rolls. I was very impressed for the style of restaurant. Very high praise.

This spot is by far the best sushi I’ve had in Kansas since I’ve moved here last year. The quality of service and food is exceptional- AND the prices are on the lower end for sushi (especially sushi this tasteful.) My friends and I had 9 different sushi rolls and 5 appetizers between us and savored each taste!! They even served us an orange and Japanese mint/candy at the end of our meal. You will not regret eating at Sam’s Express for lunch or for dinner. Kind people, great food!

Holy smokes! Don’t you love when you stumble across a hole in the wall!? This place was amazing. Super nice waitress, set us up with free waters and miso soup. Had thread sushi roles that were all incredible. I lived in Hawaii for 7 years and never expected to find sushi this good in Kansas.It is an absolute disservice that this place was completely empty. Do yourself a favor and make the drive.

We have been here three times the past 2 months. We have made plenty of rounds around town at different sushi joints. Sushi mido, sushi uni, blue sushi, ra sushi, oishi sushi etc. But Sam’s has hands down been the freshest and most affordable sushi we have found. The waitress we have had has always been super friendly and very kind to our children. Our kids like straight nigiri tuna, and when we told her she got them the same amount, but just sliced a little thinner so it was easier for them to handle with chopsticks. Be prepared that they do not serve fountain drinks, but everything is canned or bottled. No free tap water, this doesn’t bother us at all because prices are affordable. Their lunch special is a must try. My husband got the lunch special with the eel + avocado (their eel is like butter, it’s amazing) and tuna + avocado, while I got the sexy tuna and crazy ninja roll. My husband’s favorite after 3 visits is now the crazy ninja roll and mine is definitely the sexy tuna roll. They served us miso soup at no charge and honestly I don’t usually like miso soup but theirs is tasty and it seems homemade and not packaged. They include seaweed as well, which is a major plus. Most places just give you a couple green onions without any tofu, or seaweed. It’s definitely a hidden gem in OP and always clean inside. People love to get to-go orders, that’s mostly what we see but service is great if you want to sit down. Skip other places in town and give this one a shot.

First time. Ordered some carryout. Rangoon, edamame, fried shrimp dumplings, crab and cucumber salad, and a Hollywood roll. They were all delicious. The staff was equally exceptional. A small little place with some big flavor. Small business, show them some love.
