Features / HighlightsSamurai Hibachi offers several key features and highlights that draw in its clientele in Huntington, despite some acknowledged service challenges:
Entertaining Hibachi Show: This is arguably the primary draw. The "skilled hibachi chefs freshly prepare your meal right before your eyes," delivering an "entertaining Japanese hibachi experience." This interactive and theatrical cooking style, with chefs flipping eggs and lighting "volcano fire," makes dining a fun and "memorable experience," especially for "kids."
Good Food Quality: Despite criticisms about service, multiple reviews affirm that the "food was actually pretty good" and that there were "no complaints there." Specific mentions include "delicious fried rice," "flavorful teriyaki salmon," and "super fresh and very high quality sushi." This indicates that the culinary output generally meets expectations.
Diverse Menu Options: Beyond hibachi, Samurai offers an extensive sushi menu, various kitchen entrees (teriyaki, tempura), noodle dishes, bao, and poke bowls. This wide selection caters to diverse tastes within a group, ensuring there's something for everyone.
Family and Kid-Friendly Atmosphere: The restaurant actively caters to families. The hibachi show is designed to mesmerize children, and the availability of "Kids Hibachi" menus makes it a popular choice for family outings and birthday celebrations. The mention of "birthday crowns" is a nice touch for celebrations.
Large Party Accommodation & Private Rooms: Samurai Hibachi is well-equipped to handle large groups, offering "private party rooms" and various "Group Packages." This makes it an ideal venue for hosting birthday parties, corporate events, or other significant gatherings.
Full Bar Service: The presence of a full bar with beer, wine, sake, and cocktails (including "better than average cocktail" from the bar staff) enhances the adult dining experience.
Nice Decor: One customer specifically noted the "Nice decor," suggesting a pleasant and visually appealing dining environment.
Takeout and Delivery Availability: For added convenience, the restaurant offers takeout and is available on major delivery platforms like DoorDash and Uber Eats, extending its reach beyond in-house dining.
It's important to acknowledge that several detailed reviews highlight significant issues with service, including long wait times even with reservations, difficulty getting staff attention, and perceived unprofessionalism, particularly concerning large parties. While the "fun for the kids" and "good" food are consistent positives, potential diners, especially for special events, should manage expectations regarding service efficiency.

Samurai Hibachi Reviews
Well, long ago, my dad (a longtime grade school principal) said that "for a buck, be a hero.' (That was 30 years ago. ) But, u people are smart. (Especially if ur reading MY post!!) 📚 lol.In other words, throw servers, bartenders, etc., an extra $ or 2. Lotsa times, I do it b4 my meal....u know.... handing service people, money.... servers, barpeople, even the proprietor(s) when given a great table. (Which of course means different things to different people...)Well, it didn't work, not AT ALL Not here.Had to get up several times ... from the table....to get water refills, order cocktails, etc.Food was good-ish.Fun for the kids, tho.U know the deal.Agh. I'm not going back.(Sorry, Simon! You were very sweet and obviously, Saturday nite busy,) But I was hosting a surprise party (11 in attendance), and all I asked of u was for everything to run smoothly and perfectly. And to have HOT food. That's all.So I slid a $50 bill in your hand (u seemed shocked) as I intruded myself... as SOON as I walked in. We'd spoken on the phone a week earlier. No one knew where to take me to tie balloons to chairs, etc. A nd even when we (you) finally figured out to show me to "table 9"....well. There were so many plates and chairs there that were unessasary. Remember?Ruby helped rearrange 'things,' etc., but for the most part, I did it myself. (Oh! That was after giving Ruby a few extra bucks, too!)Sam, behind the bar, made better than average cocktail.Ughhhh.Usually, if I take the time to post a review, ITIS A HUNDRED PERCENT wonderful.I'm so sorry that this isn't one of them.Nice decor, though.(Oh! And u call those little square cubes of chewy steak 'filet mignon??????Most importantly, we had fun. And the birthday crowns are a great touch!@@!!!!Wishing you all the best!!
Feb 10, 2025 · DebbieThe food was actually pretty good and I can't make any complaints there. We made a reservation for 6:00 p.m. and arrived about 5 minutes early. We were told that our table was not ready yet. We waited until 6:25 at which point I begin to complain as I had two young children with me and didn't understand why I was waiting 30 minutes even though I had a reservation. We were eventually seated but weren't given any food until around 6:50. We weren't offered to purchase any drinks at the bar while we waited and in general. I found that process to be very unprofessional. Service is also lackluster and it was hard to track down anyone to take our plates or bring us our check. The hibachi show was average. Some of the hibachi chefs were better than the others and we didn't have the best one. They also seem grossly understaffed.Ultimately, the food was good and I would come back but I would sit at a table and not the hibachi grill as it looked like the service there was much better.
Mar 03, 2025 · Alex YakubovVery good Hibatchi. Filet was awesome and I enjoyed the fried rice. We requested extra eggs in ours and he took care of us. They even had french fries and chicken fingers for the picky kids in our group.😁😁
Apr 25, 2025 · Dennis VolpeCame here with friends on a Friday night with a reservation but they weren't crazy busy (I have been told that they usually are). We had multiple dishes. Prices were ok given the area but portions a bit small on the non-sushi items such as the duck bao buns and the teriyaki salmon, the latter of which was slightly overcooked. Miso soup and tofu poke ball were good as were the sushi. Service was quick and everyone was friendly. Overall food was tasty. They have hibachi tables as well although we did not get it on this visit.
Apr 15, 2024 · Michelle LcThis was an amazing experience! The soup and salad appetizer (complimentary) was super yummy, and the entree was so good! I got the chicken hibachi fried rice, and it was great (the chicken and vegetables tasted delectable). I loved the experience of the chef cooking in front of us! This was one of the best hibachis I have ever had!
