Sekai Omakase Reviews
Sorry for the blurry photos. We visited Sekai Omakase to celebrate an upcoming graduation and were really satisfied with the 16-course omakase experience. The price was $108 per person (excluding tax and tip). Depending on your preference, you can opt for a sake pairing by the glass, and there are also additional pieces available, as shown in the photos. The chefs and servers were mostly Chinese, but we had no issues communicating with them. They provided warm, attentive, and sophisticated service, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh.During our session, I noticed that all of the other guests were Asian, which surprised me, but it didn’t affect our experience in any way. Overall, I’d highly recommend Sekai Omakase for a memorable dining experience!Street parking only.
March 23 · Hyewon LimSome of the best Omakase I’ve had. The ingredients were so delicious and you could tell they were fresh. After each bite, my friends and I would look at each other silently while chewing, just in awe over the flavors. I believe the set came with 2 appetizers, 16 courses, and a dessert, which was all-in-all very worth it and filling. It’s an intimate space that might be reservation-only, and the mood was traditional-feeling and vibrant. The staff and sushi chefs were very accommodating and great to interact with. If you let them know you don’t like wasabi or need reasonable modifications, they are very good with that. We got some Sake which were great. I would recommend asking for their recommendations. We tried a sweeter one and it went down very nicely. I also recommend offering some to the staff and sushi chefs if the vibes are right!I’ve attached just some photos of my favorites of the night, but I can say for certain that each one was delicious. We will be back!
November 19 · Erin YangIt was quiet and calm restaurant!Loved all the omakase pieces. Super fresh and tasty. Will def recommend to friends and come back! (Didn’t take all the photos since I was busy eating lol)
February 21 · CleeExperience at Sakai Omakase was beyond my expectations. I booked the reservation ahead to make sure I got seats for my anniversary. I got there on time and lucky enough to find a street parking space as you know finding a parking in Soho is not that easy. The restaurant is on basement and no sign outside, it looks like many omakase place like to do nowadays.Service was great and always pay attention to what customers need. Excellent quality of food for the price I pay. I'm glad I picked this place to celebrate the special day. Recommended.
October 27 · Melissa NajaThis is one of my favorite spot in the city! Chef Eddy provides his customers great experience and food for those who crave edomae sushi. If you want traditional Japanese sushi at a great price Sekai is the answer. His 16 course is good enough but his supplement list is the real deal where you can find options that are hard to find in other omakase places in the city.
