These menus are carefully curated to showcase the freshest fish and offer a well-rounded tasting experience without the need for extensive a la carte ordering. This approach simplifies the decision-making process for diners and ensures a consistent quality.

SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa distinguishes itself with several key features and highlights that resonate with its loyal customer base:
Consistently Fresh and High-Quality Fish: This is arguably their most praised attribute. Reviewers consistently highlight the exceptional freshness of the seafood, often describing it as the "freshest fish" they've ever had, noting it "melts in your mouth."
"Trust Me" Omakase-Style Experience: While not a traditional, interactive omakase with a chef preparing each piece in front of you, the "Trust Me" menus offer a curated tasting experience. This allows diners to enjoy a variety of Chef Nozawa’s signature preparations without having to order individual pieces, providing a cohesive and satisfying meal.
Unique Warm Rice: A hallmark of the Nozawa style is the warm, loosely packed sushi rice, which is intentionally designed to complement the cool fish. This particular temperature and texture of the rice is a distinctive element that many regulars appreciate, creating a melt-in-your-mouth sensation.
Streamlined Menu and Experience: The focus on set menus simplifies the ordering process, allowing guests to concentrate on the quality of the food. This efficient approach can be appealing for those who appreciate a less overwhelming menu and a clear path to enjoying their sushi.
Friendly and Welcoming Staff: Many customers report very positive interactions with the staff, describing them as "friendly and welcoming." This contributes to a pleasant dining environment, even during busy periods.
Inclusive Pricing (No Tipping): The "no tipping" policy means the price you see on the menu is the price you pay, making budgeting straightforward and removing the guesswork often associated with gratuity in New York restaurants.
Popular Hand Rolls: Their hand rolls, particularly the Blue Crab Hand Roll and Spicy Tuna Hand Roll, are frequently cited as favorites and are often highlighted for their crisp seaweed and generous fillings.
SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa's primary "promotion" is its transparent pricing model and the perceived value of its "Trust Me" menus. By adopting a "no tipping" policy, they ensure that the prices listed on their menu are the final prices you pay, with hospitality already included. This eliminates the often-confusing aspect of calculating gratuity in New York City, providing a straightforward and predictable cost for your meal.
While SUGARFISH does not typically run traditional promotional discounts or happy hour specials in the conventional sense, the various "Trust Me" course options serve as their inherent "special offers." These tiered menus (Lite, Trust Me, The Nozawa Trust Me, Don't Think. Just Eat. Trust Me.) allow diners to choose a tasting experience that fits their appetite and budget, offering a curated selection of their freshest fish and signature preparations at a set price. This provides a consistent value proposition, ensuring that patrons receive a high-quality sushi experience for a clear, inclusive price. For specific and updated pricing for their "Trust Me" menus for lunch and dinner, it is always recommended to check their official website or inquire directly at the restaurant.

SUGARFISH by sushi nozawa Reviews
Always, ALWAYS consistently DELICIOUS! the freshest fish I've ever had! This is my go-to restaurant because it never disappoints! Not sure why they don't have a 5 star review but they deff get one from me! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming! Everyone I bring here loves it!
May 31, 2025 · VeronicaWaited about 15 min for a table on a Sunday evening. Ordered the “lite” course, additional 2 nigiri pairs (bay scallops and unagi) and 2 more 8 piece rolls (bay scallops and crab). The food was decent but the rice was slightly too warm and separated for sushi. The seafood was fresh. The key was that the meal came in somewhat of a omakase style but without the entertainment of watching your chef prepare your food. Essentially you had to wait around 10 min between courses (meaning around 2 pieces of sushi) which was slightly infuriating. At the end, we requested for a faster service and this was done promptly - though I’m not sure whether to be happy they accommodated the request or confused that they could’ve served the food faster but didn’t. In any case, we are still thankful for the accommodation. However, i would note that the service was really slow even for just getting a server’s attention. I kept my hand raised for 10 - 15 min with no response and the restaurant was not big (around 30 seats). Overall, go there if you want a lot of time to talk to your dinner companion(s), but not if you want a solid and normal speed meal.
Nov 26, 2024 · Gezhi WOne Star – Inexcusable Service on Valentine’s DaySugarfish completely dropped the ball on Valentine’s Day. I arrived on time to pick up my order, and the guy at the counter had to triple-check my app and order number—only to still give my food away to the wrong person. Instead of offering any real solution, they just told me I had to wait while they remade it from scratch.Sure, they apologized, but that was it. No offer to adjust the bill, no compensation for their mistake—just “sorry” and a longer wait. On a busy night like Valentine’s Day, that’s unacceptable. I expected better from a place that prides itself on quality and service. Won’t be ordering from here again.
Feb 14, 2025 · Mike SmallLove SUGARFISH! Can’t say anything bad about this place. Wait times can be long during busy times and you won’t be seated unless your whole group is present. Can’t go wrong with anything you decide to order. If it’s your first time take their waiter’s recommendation you won’t regret it.
May 28, 2025 · A GMy girlfriend put me onto Sugarfish and it changed my life. First time I dined at this location it was a spiritual experience - the rice was warm, the fish was cold and the service was next level. Allison (hope I’m spelling that right) is incredibly hospitable and is always on top of business. I’ll definitely be back and I would move in if I could.
