The casual and straightforward environment underscores its focus on providing high-quality food efficiently. Sunny Teriyaki is unequivocally renowned for its chicken teriyaki, with one ardent reviewer proclaiming it "the best teriyaki I've ever had - in this city, in this country, in my life!" This extraordinary praise stems from several key features:
- Exceptional Chicken Preparation: The cooking of the chicken is a major highlight, with specific mentions of "the texture of the chicken" and "the browning/grilling." This attention to detail in preparation results in perfectly cooked chicken that is both tender and flavorful, with appealing charring.
- Signature Sauce: The "sauce" is another critical component of their acclaimed teriyaki, contributing significantly to its unparalleled flavor profile. A great teriyaki sauce is often the defining factor, and Sunny Teriyaki's appears to be a closely guarded and perfected recipe.
- Generous Portions: Customers consistently highlight the "generous portion of chicken teriyaki." This means diners receive a substantial and satisfying meal, offering excellent value.
- Fresh Salad and Good Dressing: Accompanying the main dish is a "nice fresh salad with good dressing," providing a refreshing counterpoint to the savory teriyaki and adding a balanced element to the meal.
- Complimentary Hot Tea: The provision of "free cups of hot tea" is a thoughtful touch that enhances the dining experience, adding a comforting element, especially during colder weather or as a traditional Japanese accompaniment to a meal.
While the reviews specifically laud the chicken teriyaki, the establishment's name, "Sunny Teriyaki," strongly suggests that teriyaki is their specialty. A typical teriyaki restaurant might also offer beef teriyaki, spicy teriyaki, or combinations, potentially with gyoza or other simple appetizers, but the focus here is clearly on perfecting their signature chicken dish. The sheer passion expressed by reviewers for their teriyaki is a powerful testament to its quality and consistency.
While specific, time-limited promotional offers are not detailed in the provided information, Sunny Teriyaki's "promotion" is its unparalleled quality and the exceptional value it provides through generous portions. The passionate testimonials from customers, such as "Cannot recommend enough" and the incredulity that it doesn't have "5 full stars," serve as the most potent form of marketing.
The consistent delivery of what customers perceive as the "best teriyaki" creates organic word-of-mouth promotion and fosters intense customer loyalty. This deep satisfaction ensures repeat business and strong recommendations, which are more valuable than any fleeting discount. The combination of high-quality, generously portioned food, efficient service, and thoughtful touches like complimentary hot tea, all at a presumably reasonable price point (implied by the lack of complaints about cost despite the high praise), makes Sunny Teriyaki a highly attractive and consistently rewarding dining option in Seattle.

Sunny Teriyaki Reviews
Generous portion of chicken teriyaki with a nice fresh salad and good dressing, free cups of hot tea, and enough seating for a dozen people. Not bad for a tiny place in a gas station!
May 09 · Tom ElwoodSunny Teriyaki (specifically the one next to Fishermen's Terminal) is the best teriyaki I've ever had - in this city, in this country, in my life! It's my absolute favorite because of the way they cook the chicken, the texture of the chicken, the browning/grilling, and the sauce. They have super great service. I always call ahead and pick up in store. Can't recommend enough. Cannot understand why they don't have 5 full stars, whoever rated less than a 5 does not have good taste.
January 27 · Sarah NayaniThe lady who runs this cozy little spot is so nice. If I lived nearby I would be here for kimbap and a side salad for lunch every day.The teriyaki was fine but I would have asked for the sauce on the side next time if this was my local joint just because there was so much of it.Five stars for the kimbap!
April 11 · Jay KaoThis is a nice spot for something to munch quickly, i have gotten the general tsao from here and is good. This time around i got the chicken teriyaki and wasn't too impressed with the chicken and the sauce. I definitely have had better i thought this would be their best dish since its part of their name. The lady is very nice and friendly, the chicken was also a little cold. It was ready too quickly so makes me think its not fresh. This combo came with the salad ofcourse and white rice. Price is reasonable but not too crazy for it myself
November 04 · Bladimir RosalesThe teriyaki chicken is solid. Simple, delicious, and hits the spot. The yakisoba was a bit meh. More like chow mein than yakisoba. And the ingredients tasted a bit like plastic wrap. Perhaps because that was how they were stored.
