Sushi Edo Revolving Bar Introduce
For those of us in Oregon, particularly in the Portland metro area, the quest for truly satisfying sushi often leads to a desire for both quality and value. And when you can find a place that combines the fun of a revolving bar with the incredible option of all-you-can-eat, it's truly a local treasure. That's exactly what Sushi Edo Revolving Bar delivers. Located conveniently in Northeast Portland, this Japanese restaurant has quickly become a go-to spot for many who crave fresh, diverse, and well-priced sushi, alongside other Japanese delights like yakisoba and tempura.
Sushi Edo Revolving Bar stands out in the Portland dining scene by offering a unique and interactive experience. Whether you're grabbing plates off the conveyor belt for a quick bite or ordering made-to-order items via a tablet for their all-you-can-eat option, the focus remains on fresh ingredients and efficient service. Locals rave about the quality of the nigiri, especially seared salmon, salmon belly, seared tuna, and unagi. It's a place where you can enjoy a wide variety of expertly prepared dishes without the worry of the bill piling up, making it perfect for couples, families, and even solo diners seeking a fulfilling meal.
Sushi Edo Revolving Bar is ideally situated at 1383 NE 181st Ave, Portland, OR 97230, USA. This Northeast Portland address makes it quite accessible for residents across the city and particularly convenient for those in the eastern suburbs. Its proximity to local amenities, like the DMV mentioned in a review, suggests it's in a well-trafficked and easy-to-reach area.
The restaurant's design and service model contribute significantly to its accessibility. The revolving sushi bar offers a dynamic way to dine, allowing guests to pick dishes directly as they pass by. For those who prefer to order specific items or utilize their all-you-can-eat option, the integration of tablet ordering ensures a streamlined and efficient process. While the primary experience is dine-in, the prevalence of online ordering for pickup and delivery services in today's market suggests similar options might be available, though the core focus is on the in-house dining experience.
Sushi Edo Revolving Bar provides a distinctive set of services designed to enhance the Japanese dining experience:
- Revolving Sushi Bar (Kaiten-zushi): The signature service, where plates of various sushi, nigiri, and other small dishes rotate on a conveyor belt, allowing diners to select items as they please. This offers a spontaneous and visual way to enjoy a meal.
- All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) Sushi: A highly popular option allowing diners to order made-to-order sushi and other dishes via a tablet. This is a fixed-price offering and provides incredible value, especially for those with a hearty appetite.
- Made-to-Order from Tablet: Even if you're not doing AYCE, you can order specific items fresh from the kitchen or sushi bar using the provided tablets, which are then often delivered via a separate, faster conveyor belt or by staff.
- Dine-in Service: Enjoy a comfortable and spacious dining area, suitable for couples, families, and groups.
- Table Reservations: While not explicitly stated, for an AYCE place, it's usually advisable to consider reservations or arrive early, especially on busy days like Valentine's Day, as noted by a customer.
- Takeout Options: While the in-person experience is a highlight, they also offer standard menu items for takeout via online ordering platforms like Grubhub and DoorDash.
- Delivery Service: Available through third-party platforms such as Grubhub, DoorDash, UberEats, and Seamless, bringing convenience to your doorstep.
Sushi Edo Revolving Bar stands out in the Portland area due to several compelling features and highlights:
- Exceptional Sushi Quality for AYCE: Customers rave about the "very good" quality of sushi, particularly for an all-you-can-eat restaurant. Specific favorites mentioned include seared salmon, salmon belly, seared tuna, and unagi nigiri.
- Made-to-Order AYCE System: The ability to order via a tablet ensures freshness, as items are prepared specifically for you rather than sitting on the belt for too long. This significantly elevates the AYCE experience.
- Reasonable Price Point: Despite the high quality and AYCE option, the pricing is described as "very very reasonable for what you get," making it a fantastic value proposition for sushi lovers.
- Wide Variety of Menu Items: Beyond the extensive sushi and nigiri options (including classic and premium rolls like Skyler Roll, Edo Roll, Dragon Roll, Tuna Lover Roll, and more), they offer a diverse selection of other Japanese dishes. This includes:

- Great for Groups: The all-you-can-eat model and spacious setting make it ideal for dining with partners, friends, or family.
The most significant and attractive offer at Sushi Edo Revolving Bar is its all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi option. This is a fixed-price offering that allows diners to enjoy an extensive selection of made-to-order sushi, nigiri, and other Japanese dishes. While specific daily promotions or discounts beyond the AYCE model aren't explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, the inherent value of their AYCE pricing is a constant draw.
Reviewers mention that the AYCE price is "very very reasonable for what you get," suggesting it’s a consistent value proposition. For instance, some sources indicate lunch AYCE around $22 and dinner just over $30 (though prices can vary and should be confirmed directly with the restaurant). This makes it an excellent choice for those with a healthy appetite for quality sushi.
It's always a good practice to inquire directly with the restaurant about any current specials, happy hour times, or family deals, as these can change.

Sushi Edo Revolving Bar Reviews
Had lunch with my partner here today while I waited for my DMV appointment next door. I got the revolving sushi since I know I wasn't going to eat enough to justify it. It was super tasty and reasonably priced. The only tiny nitpick is it might be nice if there were signs in front of each item as it went by so you're not guessing. Also there was a little static Jen on the conveyor belt by our table, but the staff fixed it promptly and we're very polite. My partner has the chicken yakisoba because she didn't eat fish. It was a great experience and I'll definitely come back.
Apr 18, 2025 · Izaak Zawyrucha-MooreOkay this ayce sushi restaurant in Gresham is a gem 🤩.Ayce made to order sushi is where it's atWe arrived on Valentines day and we were the first one there for about 30 minutes before it got busy. We did ayce and ordered through the app - easy and straight forward.Service was good! They were quick and we were checked up every now and then. But when it was getting busy, they missed two of our orders but not a big deal. We reminded them and they got to it immediately.Sushi quality - we just went for the nigiris and the vegetable tempura. And nigiri quality was very good! I loved the seared salmon, salmon belly, seared tuna and unagi.Price point - very very reasonable for what you get.We will definitely come back. My husband won me a Boba plush at one of their claw machines. Pretty spacious area and clean bathrooms. I recommend coming right when it opens for immediate seating and for food to arrive quicker.
Feb 16, 2025 · DianaSushi Edo is fresh on my list of favorite places to eat. My husband and I are new to the area and are constantly trying new sushi places! Sushi Edo is the first where I've received everything I wanted in a sushi dinner without fail. The food is fresh and delicious, the wait staff are so kind and prompt, and the chefs are meticulous in their presentation. Can't wait to come back— the seared salmon is my absolute favorite!!
Jan 25, 2025 · Andrea GranilloThis is one of my favorite sushi spots! The food is always so fresh and the atmosphere is really good, makes you wanna sit there and chat for awhile. The bento boxes are way bigger than I expected but so👏freaking👏good👏. I'm a sucker for any type of claw machines so after I eat I always play their MANY games. Love this place.
Mar 11, 2025 · KaylaService is fantastic. They offer all you can eat on weekends only.If you're going there for all you can eat. It might be worth it.I wouldn't recommend it for happy hour plates.Portions are smaller than most conveyor belt places.Rice had decent flavor.Other than the rice. Flavor was bland on all the rolls. The fried stuff is full of fried from frozen flavor.
