### Services Offered
Sushi Hayashi offers a distinctive and highly acclaimed dining experience centered around an all-you-can-eat omakase concept. Here's a breakdown of their services:
- All-You-Can-Eat Omakase: The signature offering is a structured 13-course omakase menu presented over a set time limit (typically 1 hour and 20 minutes). This initial phase introduces diners to a variety of chef-selected sushi and other dishes.
- Unlimited Nigiri Add-on: Following the initial 13 courses, guests are given two opportunities to order as much sushi as they desire from a select "unlimited" menu, which usually includes high-quality options like fatty tuna, lean tuna, eel, and scallop. This generous offering is a major highlight.
- Dine-in Experience: Sushi Hayashi provides an intimate and relaxing dine-in environment. The restaurant is described as "small and intimate," fostering a cozy vibe that enhances the omakase experience.
- Reservations Required: Due to its popularity and the structured nature of the omakase, making reservations in advance is essential to secure a spot.
- Personalized Service: The staff and chefs are noted for their friendly personalities and attentiveness, often going above and beyond to make guests feel special (e.g., helping with chopsticks, keeping drinks flowing).
- Beverage Selection: The restaurant offers a selection of beverages, including house sake that pairs well with the sushi, enhancing the overall dining experience.
- Dessert Course: The omakase experience typically concludes with a 14th course of homemade matcha ice cream, providing a sweet and refreshing finish.
### Features / Highlights
Sushi Hayashi stands out from other Japanese restaurants in New York City due to several unique features and highlights:
- Exceptional Quality AYCE Omakase: This is arguably its most significant selling point. Combining the curated artistry of omakase with an all-you-can-eat format (for select nigiri) is a rare and highly valued offering. The sushi is consistently praised as "excellent quality for an all you can eat omakase experience."
- Incredibly Fresh and Buttery Fish: Diners frequently commend the fish for being "so fresh and buttery," indicating a high standard for ingredient quality. This freshness is crucial for an outstanding sushi experience.
- Personalized and Humorous Service: The staff, particularly servers like "Zack," are highlighted for their "humor and personality," making the interaction a memorable part of the experience. They go the extra mile to make guests comfortable and special, even for first-time omakase diners.
- Intimate and Relaxing Ambiance: Described as "small and intimate," the restaurant fosters a "relaxing vibe." This cozy setting allows diners to focus on the food and conversation without the distractions of larger, noisier venues.
- Generous Unlimited Nigiri Selection: The ability to add "as much sushi as you want" from a premium selection (fatty tuna, lean tuna, eel, scallop) after the initial courses is a huge draw and a distinguishing factor for an AYCE experience.
- Homemade Matcha Ice Cream: The inclusion of homemade matcha ice cream as the final course adds a delightful and authentic Japanese touch to the meal, providing a refreshing end.
- Strict "No Waste" Policy: The policy of charging for uneaten sushi ($6 per piece including rice) encourages mindful eating and reduces food waste, reflecting a common practice in quality Japanese establishments.
### Promotions or Special Offers
Sushi Hayashi's primary "promotion" is its unique and value-driven all-you-can-eat omakase concept. The tiered structure effectively offers a premium experience at a fixed price point, making it highly appealing. While traditional "discounts" may not be the focus, the very nature of their offering serves as a special proposition:
- All-You-Can-Eat Omakase Experience: This is the main "special offer." For a set price (e.g., around $60-$70 per person based on typical AYCE omakase in NYC, though prices can vary and should be confirmed directly), diners receive a 13-course omakase followed by unlimited, high-quality nigiri. This is a remarkable value for the quality and quantity provided in New York City.
- Value in Premium Unlimited Options: The inclusion of sought-after fish like fatty tuna and scallop in the unlimited portion provides immense value, as these are typically expensive when ordered à la carte.
Given the structured nature and high demand for this type of dining, formal external promotions are less likely. The "offer" is the unique and satisfying dining format itself. It is always best to confirm current pricing and any specific details directly with Sushi Hayashi when making a reservation.

Sushi Hayashi Reviews
I had a fantastic experience at Sushi Hayashi yesterday. From the food to the interaction with my server, everything was a 10/10. Each roll was out of this world. The fish was so fresh and buttery I am still thinking about it now. I was so pleased by Zack's humor and personality I am looking into hosting my bridal proposal there. This was my mother's first time trying omakase and he made it so special. He helped to make her chopsticks easier to use, and kept her sake flowing! The restaurant was small and intimate, making it such a relaxing vibe. Being able to add more sushi to your order at the end was a huge plus. I left so satisfied. I cannot wait to go back!
Feb 18, 2025 · Courtney DesmarattesVery fun experience! They have a set time limit of 1 hour and 20 minutes for a 13 course menu before allowing you two opportunities to order as much sushi as you want from their unlimited menu (eel, scallop, lean tuna, fatty tuna). They charge $6 per piece of uneaten sushi, which includes the rice, so you'd better finish it all! I took down 10 additional pieces of nigiri as a conservative decision because I was there with my girlfriend. I'd definitely like to go back with a group of guy friends and eat maybe 20 pieces when we get to the AYCE part of the experience. The final and 14th course is their homemade matcha ice cream. Their house sake paired well with the sushi. Very friendly servers and chefs. Must make a reservation in advance. The sushi was excellent quality for an all you can eat omakase experience.
May 20, 2025 · Cliff JonesSo worth the price!!! $98 per person for 14 courses and two rounds of free sushi + free drinks. The service was efficient and the sushi was superb!! The King Salmon, Lean Tuna, Botan Ebi, and Unagi were our favorites. We paid extra for additional pieces of salmon and shrimp. So happy I got to enjoy a dinner here.
Apr 04, 2025 · Jade Huynh1000% will come back. When you hear all you can eat it makes, you worry about quality. All worries were quickly put to bed. Sushi Hayashi has excellent sushi and service.Delicious 14-piece Omakase is followed by 2 rounds of ordering as much as you want from a selection of 4 rolls (sea scallop, lean tuna, fatty tuna, and inagi). The vibe is lovely.Best for date night or dinner with a small group of friends
Feb 04, 2025 · Jake CroninThis is an all you can eat omakase restaurant. I would recommend if you like sushi and can eat a lot. They have 14 dishes with two appetisers and one homemade matcha ice cream. I would say their homemade matcha ice cream is delicious. The matcha flavour is strong. However, if you are looking for to drink different kinds of sake, this might not be the best place. Although they are serving all you can drinks, there are only two choices of sake. Their fish is fresh and delicious. The spot prawn really surprised me! However, if you are a person looking for perfect, I think the sushi rice could be better. There could be a slightly more vinegar in it and should be in room temperature instead of warm. But overall, this place is awesome. I like the atmosphere. It is very chill to have two to three friends spending the night together. Just remember to tell them your allergies and make sure they don’t put it when serving you. This is always important when you have a serious allergic reaction to something. The table next to us had an allergy to wasabi. The host did always keep that in mind. However, there were a few chefs there which there were a few times that they almost messed up and gave her the sushi with wasabi. So, I would be careful on that.
