Sushi Katsu-ya Reviews
Cannot recommend this place highly enough!! I was staying in a hotel across the street, so decided to have dinner here on a Saturday evening during a recent visit to Seattle. From the moment I walked in, everyone working there was friendly and welcoming. I sat at the sushi counter area, and enjoyed talking to the guys working behind the counter. The food was fantastic!! I got a piece of salmon sushi, the spicy salmon roll, and the dragon roll. All were excellent. The quality of the salmon sushi was excellent - buttery and soft.My favorite thing that I had, though, was the corn tempura! It's little rectangles of corn that have been tempura fried, and it's served with a garlic butter dipping sauce. You have to try it - it's so good!! It's honestly one of those things that I'm almost sad I tried, because I was in from out of town and can't get it here, haha.Highly recommend this place though, and I will definitely be back if I come back to Seattle!
Feb 02, 2025 · Mandy HoskinsEnjoyed time with friends at this quaint spot. Metro area with quick access to public transportation, parking is not your friend. The food, service and vibes are good. The decor is inviting with relatively prompt service. We would dine here again.
Dec 24, 2024 · L.A. THad such a great dinner here! Staff were lovely, everything was so fresh and had great flavour and it’s a great spot for something fresh downtown. The spicy tuna roll and the chilli edamame were my favourites - I’ll definitely be back
May 17, 2025 · Lucy ConnellOh my goodness.. let me start of by saying if you want fresh sushi.. COME HERE. Now this was my first time in Seattle and I only had sushi once and it was here but it was amazing! Sushi good and fresh flavors! We ordered the Creamy Popcorn Shrimp, the Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna, the Rainbow Roll, the Avocado Roll and the Salmon Caviar. The creamy popcorn shrimp was delicious! Perfectly fried and creamy. The crispy rice with spicy tuna was so delicious also, had a beautiful crunch on the rice and the spicy crab melted in your mouth! The rainbow roll was super fresh and the avocado roll was so simple and delicate but delicious! The salmon caviar was pretty good with a nice balance of salt but not sure if I would get it again. Over all every thing was so good! The service was also really good! Our serve answered any of our questions and she was on top of refilling my way.. since I drink a lot of water. This place wasn’t that expensive either! I would definitely come back here!
Oct 07, 2023 · Daniela AlvaradoThe main sushi I got here was the Spider Roll, which had crab as its focusFor the most part I thought it was pretty decent. On the edge rolls, a leg was fried, which seemed like an interesting touch.Eating one of these legs was really soft and basically crumbled once you took a bite into them. The rice was mostly ok - it felt a little worn down. I couldn't really taste any of the crab in each of the rolls, though, even in what should be themain crab leg part of the mealWe also got the popcorn shrimp as an appetizer - and this was by far my favorite part. The shrimp was fried perfectly, super soft on the inside, and most importantly, it was coated in some sort of cream sauce that was absolutely delicious. We couldn't stop eating this - and I would've ordered it as a main dish if I were to come here next time. A really, really good appetizerLastly, we got the creme brulee for dessert, which was decent - there was a good lemon flavorThe prices are pretty reasonable here. Although this meal didn't fill me up, I think it was pretty solid at around $15 for a rollOverall, decent sushi with a really good appetizer. 7.75/10
