---Tada Ramen & Yakitori specializes in two beloved categories of Japanese cuisine: ramen and yakitori, alongside a selection of complementary dishes. Here's a breakdown of their offerings:
- Ramen Bowls: They offer a variety of ramen, including popular choices like Tonkotsu and Tan Tan Ramen. Customers praise the "creamy pork broth" in their Tonkotsu, and the Tan Tan is noted for its balanced "spicier broth but not overdone powering." Other ramen options include Miso Ramen, Shio Yuzu Chicken Ramen (gluten-free), Spicy Vegan Ramen, Soy Cream Zen Ramen, and Veggie Bliss Ramen.
- Yakitori Skewers: A significant part of their appeal, the yakitori skewers are highlighted for being "flavorful and tasty," "charred just right," and "not overdone or super chewy." Popular choices include Enoki Bacon, Scallop Bacon, Chicken Thigh, Eel, Pork Belly, and a combo skewer (prawn, scallop, and eel). They offer options with house sauce or sea salt.
- Appetizers: The menu includes delicious starters like Karaage (Japanese fried chicken), Gyoza (pan-fried chicken & vegetable dumplings), Grilled Corn Cob with parmesan cheese, Edamame, Takoyaki, and Pork Buns.
- Rice Bowls & Curry: For those looking beyond noodles, they offer various rice bowls such as Chashu Bowl, Karaage Curry, Ebi Furai Curry, and Vegan Curry Rice.
- Vegan and Gluten-Free Options: Tada Ramen & Yakitori makes a conscious effort to cater to diverse dietary needs, offering a "Spicy Vegan Ramen" with organic soy milk broth and spinach noodles, "Soy Cream Zen Ramen" (vegan), "Veggie Bliss Ramen" and a "Shio Yuzu Chicken Ramen" that is gluten-free with potato noodles.
- Desserts: They offer sweet treats like Hojicha pudding and Yuzu Cheesecake.
- Dine-In Service: They provide a "small restaurant with friendly Japanese workers" and a "cozy and welcoming atmosphere" for an enjoyable dine-in experience.
- Pick-Up Orders: The restaurant is "Popular for pick up orders," indicating an efficient system for customers who prefer to grab their food to go.
Tada Ramen & Yakitori boasts several compelling features and highlights that contribute to its growing popularity among Oakland locals:
- Dual Specialty (Ramen & Yakitori): A unique selling point is their mastery of both ramen and yakitori. This allows diners to enjoy two distinct, yet complementary, types of Japanese comfort food under one roof, offering more variety than single-focus restaurants.
- High-Quality Broths: The ramen broths, particularly the "creamy pork broth" of the Tonkotsu and the "spicier broth but not overdone powering" of the Tan Tan, receive high praise for their depth of flavor. Their commitment to "loyalty to quality" (the meaning of "Tada") is evident here.
- Perfectly Cooked Yakitori: The skewers are consistently highlighted for being "charred just right" and "not overdone or super chewy," ensuring a delightful texture and rich flavor. The variety of skewer options, including unique ones like Enoki Bacon and Scallop Bacon, is also a plus.
- Generous Portions: Customers frequently note the "huge portions" and bowls "filled with lots of ingredients," suggesting excellent value for money. This addresses a common desire for satisfying meal sizes.
- Accommodating Dietary Needs: The inclusion of dedicated "Spicy Vegan Ramen," "Soy Cream Zen Ramen," "Veggie Bliss Ramen," and "Shio Yuzu Chicken Ramen (Gluten Free)" demonstrates a thoughtful approach to catering to a wider range of diners.
- Friendly Japanese Staff: The presence of "friendly Japanese workers" contributes to an authentic and welcoming atmosphere, enhancing the overall dining experience.
- Cozy and Welcoming Ambiance: Described as a "small restaurant" that quickly fills up, it suggests an intimate and popular setting that creates a lively yet comfortable dining environment.
- New and Thriving: Despite being a relatively new establishment (less than a year old at the time of reviews), it has quickly gained a loyal following, indicating immediate success and strong customer satisfaction.
- Delicious Appetizers and Desserts: Beyond ramen and yakitori, items like the Karaage and Hojicha pudding are noted as "delicious," adding to the comprehensive culinary experience.
Based on the provided customer reviews and publicly available menu information, Tada Ramen & Yakitori does not explicitly advertise specific ongoing promotions or limited-time special offers in the same way some larger chains might. However, the consistent themes in customer feedback suggest that the restaurant provides significant value that acts as a continuous "special offer" to its patrons.
The most prominent "promotion" is the **generous portions and high quality of their food at a reasonable price point**. Customers consistently mention "huge portions and worth every penny," and that bowls are "filled with lots of ingredients." This inherent value for money, where diners feel they receive substantial and delicious meals, serves as a strong incentive for repeat visits.
Additionally, the **diverse menu that caters to various preferences, including vegan and gluten-free options**, could be considered an ongoing "special" in terms of accessibility and inclusivity. Providing delicious choices for those with dietary restrictions broadens their appeal and ensures more people can enjoy their offerings.
While there are no specific coupon codes, happy hour deals, or loyalty programs explicitly mentioned, the overall positive dining experience – driven by quality food, friendly service, and satisfying portions – acts as the primary draw. As with many popular local establishments, it's always a good idea to check their official website or social media channels, or inquire directly when visiting, for any unadvertised daily specials or seasonal items that might be available. The inherent value and quality are what keep the crowds coming back to Tada Ramen & Yakitori.

Tada Ramen & Yakitori Reviews
Was around the area and was looking for a place to have dinner with my hubs. I found this good find for ramen and skewers together. Seems it's a new place. Less than a year old based on early ratings. It's a small restaurant with friendly Japanese workers. We ordered Tonkotsu and Tan Tan Ramen. Both had a creamy pork broth which I loved. I only wished the ramen was thicker noodles. I thought it was a small bowl but it was filled with lots of ingredients that I could have shared with my hubs and had more skewers. The Tan Tan was a little spicier broth but not overdone powering. We also ordered a few Skewers and all were flavorful and tasty. The skewers were charred just right and were not overdone or super chewy. We had Enoki Bacon, scallop Bacon, and combo(1) which consists of 1 prawn, 1 eel and 1 scallop. We got there before the crowd came. Popular for pick up orders. Got lucky as soon as we were almost done with our meal, the place was full for a weeknight. Would like to definitely come back to try more of their skewers.
Mar 02, 2025 · Edna GNew ramen spot in Oakland! The food is incredible! The karaage, the yakitori, the Yuzu ramen, the thick Chashu, Hojicha pudding were all so delicious! Huge portions and worth every penny. Definitely going back 😍
Feb 03, 2025 · Nutchapol Nick PhaungjitHad an incredible lunch at Tada Ramen and Yakitori! We were on the hunt for steamed buns and were thrilled with their version featuring pork belly—it was absolutely perfect. Everything else we tried was equally delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was clean and welcoming, with soothing Japanese music playing in the background. A truly delightful experience!
Oct 20, 2024 · Dudy Bar-TalThis was just absolutely amazing. I got the combo skewer with shrimp, unagi, and scallop - So good! It was cooked perfectly. My friend had the bacon wrapped scallops which were good, but the bacon did overpower the scallops. I had the yuzu soup with added green onions and spicy ball, it was SO refreshing. The flavors felt so fresh and honestly prefer this restaurant over marufuku (sorry!!!). Highly recommend
Apr 20, 2025 · Courtney TurnerIntimate and cozy ramen spot on Grand and I prefer this over Mensho on Piedmont for a more casual weekday meal with better prices. Solid ramen - I have had the Tan Tan, Creamy Vegan and Tonkatsu and enjoyed all of them. However the Tonkatsu stands out as the most special due to the flavorful broth. The enoki chips are delicious, get it!
