The restaurant is newer and clean, the sushi is fresh and the service staff is there to be accommodating. I tried the Spicy Maki combo and it was a worthy value for the price. No issues with use of my iPad dining alone.

Love this place. The staff is super friendly and the fish is always fresh and delicious. Try their specials like the Kumamoto oysters which were swimming in a touch of wasabi liquid and beautifully briny. The Kinmedai (specially flown in from Japan) over a rice soaked in soy sauce was very good too.

Taka Japanese has been my go-to spot for over 10 years, and it remains a must-visit destination even after I moved back to NYC. The owner, Amy, is incredibly warm and welcoming, making every visit feel like coming home. But what truly sets Taka apart is the unparalleled freshness and flavor of their sushi. Their expertise is unmatched, and I firmly believe that Taka Japanese should be recognized as an international destination for sushi lovers.
