As a restaurant that leans towards a "special occasion" designation due to its pricing, TAKARAMONO SUSHI may not frequently offer widespread public promotions in the same way more casual eateries might. However, it's always recommended for local patrons to:
- Check their Official Website: Many high-end restaurants announce seasonal menus, tasting events, or special chef’s dinners directly on their website.
- Follow Social Media: Platforms like Instagram or Facebook can be used for last-minute announcements or limited-time offers.
- Inquire Directly: When making a reservation or visiting, it's always worth asking if there are any current chef's specials or unadvertised tasting menus that might enhance your experience.
- Giftly Options: As seen in public data, Giftly offers the option to purchase gift cards for TAKARAMONO SUSHI, allowing you to treat yourself or others to a meal here. This could be considered a flexible "special offer" if you're looking to budget for a premium dining experience.
Given its focus on fresh, high-quality, and often seasonal ingredients, any "specials" are likely to revolve around unique fish arrivals or limited-time chef creations rather than broad discounts.

TAKARAMONO SUSHI Reviews
First time here and we loved it. The fish was very fresh and tasty and they had salmon and blue fin tuna belly (plus other “belly” options). Some creative dishes but mostly just really good, fresh “fish focused” sushi. Highly recommend. Only issue is that it’s more expensive than other sushi restaurants in La Jolla Village so this will likely be a “special occasion” place. Total bill with tip and tax for two people was $280 (and we did not over order).
May 24, 2025 · Bruce KornfeldVery nice Japanese restaurant serving wonderful dishes. The place is relatively new, in the not-so-busy part of La Jolla Village. On our Sunday visit at lunch time, it’s not crowded. The front is wide open, letting in the fresh ocean air from the shore not far down the street. The traffic noise also got in and the place is a little less refined as it could be.Service is very nice. The dishes we got, from miso soup, uni pasta, to the Hoseki “make your own sushi” plate were all excellent. You can tell the quality of ingredients and the chef’s skills in every bite.
Apr 29, 2025 · Chen DowThe sushi pieces were very good, a little on the small side but the fish felt high quality. I liked the variety offered. They have quite a few torched pieces on the menu, which I’m not a fan of but some might enjoy that. They also have a unique miso soup which I’m glad I tried but would probably not get again just based on my preferences, I like a more typical miso soup.Atmosphere was cute, not many other people since it was an off time, so I could hear a lot of staff conversations. I never like when you can see the bathroom from the dining room but I get space can be limited.
Apr 19, 2025 · J B⭐ 4/5 – Fresh Fish, Custom Rolls, and Limited Menu OptionsI had a really good experience at Takaramono Sushi. The fish quality is top-notch, and the staff is more than willing to accommodate special requests, like custom-cut rolls made from halibut and salmon, which was a fantastic touch! The service was friendly, and the team seemed genuinely happy to serve and help with any customization requests. The atmosphere was simple and understated, perfect for a relaxed sushi meal, but not the place for a fancy night out. Now, as far as the food goes, the custom rolls were a highlight of the experience—the fish was super fresh. The cuts of halibut and salmon were perfect and melted in your mouth. But the menu itself was somewhat limited. If you're someone who loves a large variety of rolls or options, you might find the choices here lacking. I personally was able to find what I wanted, but it’s not a place with an extensive selection if that’s something you’re after. The service was exceptional—our server was very attentive and happy to customize the order to our preferences, which made the experience feel personal and special. The restaurant is small and simple, and while it’s cozy, it lacks the atmosphere that comes with more extravagant sushi spots. It’s ideal for a casual meal but not a destination for a fancy night out.Overall, I’d recommend this place to anyone who appreciates high-quality fish and is looking for a simple, no-frills sushi experience. It’s perfect for those who want fresh sushi but might be disappointed by the lack of variety on the menu. Definitely worth checking out, but not a place if you’re looking for a wide range of options.🍣 The Food: 4/5The fish was excellent—fresh and delicious. The custom rolls were a standout, but the limited menu options meant I didn’t get to try as many different items.🛎️ The Service: 5/5The staff was incredibly friendly, and they went above and beyond to accommodate our requests for custom rolls. Very happy with the service.🏡 The Atmosphere: 3.5/5The space is simple and unpretentious—not much in terms of decor or ambiance, but it works for a casual meal. Not the most cozy or luxurious environment, but it’s comfortable enough.💰 The Verdict: Fresh Fish, But Limited Options✅ Custom rolls – great option for those who want a personalized sushi experience✅ Fresh fish – really top-notch quality❌ Limited menu – don’t expect a wide variety of options❌ Simple atmosphere – not the place for a fancy night outWould I come back? Yes, but I’d love to see more variety in the menu next time. It’s a great place if you want fresh, quality sushi in a casual setting.
