I dine out pretty often, and end up returning to the same handful of restaurants. I'm very happy to say that Takumi in Bethesda just earned itself a repeat customer. The scallop roll really impressed me, and it didn't taste like something that I could get from just any sushi restaurant in the area. They also have a wagyu fried rice which I'd never seen done before, and it was so rich and flavorful. I love when a restaurant offers a standout dish that sets it apart from the others, and Takumi has definitely succeeded in doing that. I'll have to come back and experience these dishes again with friends, and maybe find another gem on their menu as well.

Just checked out this new Japanese sushi restaurant. Very good! Spicy crispy tuna roll packed with large pieces of very fresh tuna. Happy to see a quality restaurant opening in Bethesda. My new go to sushi to explore rest of menu. It all looks very good with some unique and creative offerings.

Very tasty sushi! We have been wanting a good sushi place in Bethesda for a while and Takumi hit the spot! The Osaka and Maryland rolls were especially excellent, highly Recommended.

We just experienced perhaps the best sushi experience ever tonight at Takumi Bistro and Bar in Bethesda. The menu is amazing with so many unique selections we will need to come back again, and soon. This is not your every day/night sushi place. The Omakase Nigiri Set was incredible with 10pcs of super high quality nigiri, wagyu beef, Hokkaido uni, scallop and some daily specials that were a first time experience and some of the best sushi we have ever had. The manager Ryan was extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and helpful and we also met the owner/parter David. Both made us feel so special. Takumi is going to make a big splash in Bethesda once the word gets out. Can’t wait for the saki bar to open!
