TEN Ramen Introduce
For Texans with a keen appreciation for authentic Japanese cuisine, finding a truly distinctive ramen spot can be a delightful quest. Tucked away in West Dallas, TEN Ramen offers more than just a meal; it provides a unique culinary experience that transports you straight to the bustling ramen stalls of Tokyo. This isn't your average sit-down restaurant, and that's precisely what makes it so special. TEN Ramen is dedicated to serving up intensely flavorful and freshly prepared ramen, designed to be enjoyed in a fast, efficient, and truly immersive way.
Founded by renowned chef Teiichi Sakurai, known for his critically acclaimed Tei-An, TEN Ramen brings a refined touch to the humble noodle bowl. It's a place where the quality of the broth, the texture of the noodles, and the freshness of the toppings are paramount. Whether you're a ramen enthusiast or new to the world of Japanese noodles, TEN Ramen promises a memorable encounter with one of Japan's most beloved comfort foods. Prepare for a dining adventure that prioritizes the food and the unique, energetic atmosphere of a true Tokyo ramen shop.
TEN Ramen is strategically located at 1888 Sylvan Ave #F100, Dallas, TX 75208, USA, in the vibrant Sylvan Thirty development. This popular mixed-use complex in West Dallas is known for its collection of unique eateries and shops, making it a destination for food lovers across the metroplex. Its position on Sylvan Avenue provides excellent access from various parts of Dallas, and being part of a larger development means parking is generally available, though it's always wise to anticipate busier times.
What truly sets TEN Ramen's location apart is its intentional design to mimic traditional Japanese ramen counters. As customers have noted, the establishment features "bar top sitting in a very small space" and is predominantly "standing room only." This isn't a drawback but a deliberate feature, designed to enhance the authentic "Tokyo feel" of the experience. It encourages a focus on the fresh food being prepared right in front of you by the cooks, creating an intimate and engaging atmosphere. While one customer mentioned the cold from the door opening in colder weather, the unique setting is part of the charm, encouraging a quick and focused enjoyment of your ramen. The fast-paced environment is ideal for a satisfying meal on the go, whether you're grabbing lunch or a quick dinner.
TEN Ramen focuses on a streamlined and high-quality ramen experience, offering a concise yet impactful menu designed to deliver maximum flavor.
- Signature Ramen Bowls: The core of their offering includes a selection of expertly crafted ramen. Popular choices include the rich and creamy Tonkotsu (pork-based broth mixed with chicken stock), a savory Shoyu (soy-based chicken broth), and the unique Spicy Lobster Miso (spicy miso-based lobster broth with sautéed crab).
- Brothless Ramen (Maze-men): A standout offering is their Maze-men, a brothless ramen dish that has garnered significant praise. Customers can enjoy the standard Maze-men (sweet and savory pork belly served over ramen noodles with a poached egg, cucumbers, green onions, and fried shallots) or the Spicy Maze-men, which features chopped pork belly sautéed in a sweet and savory soy-based sauce over ramen noodles, topped with a poached egg, cucumbers, green onions, and fried shallots. This dry ramen option is perfect for those looking for an intense flavor experience without the broth.
- Vegetarian Options: TEN Ramen caters to various dietary preferences with a flavorful Vegetarian Ramen. This veggie ramen is light but packed with flavor, based on a soy-based vegetable broth, and includes ingredients like corn, pickled mustard greens, spinach, wood ear mushroom, braised bamboo, green onions, and your choice of bok choy and tofu.
- Rice Bowls (Donburi): For those who prefer rice, they offer delicious donburi options such as Buta-Soboro (chopped pork belly sautéed in sweet and savory soy-based sauce served over buttered rice) and Chashu-Don (braised and grilled chashu pork belly served over buttered rice).
- Sides and Add-ons: Complement your meal with sides like Edamame (salted or spicy garlic), Cucumber Salad, Chashu (Pork Belly), Extra Noodles, or a simple Bowl of Rice or Bowl of Broth.
- Beverages: A selection of Japanese sodas (Ramune), teas, and even Mexican Coke and Topo Chico are available to quench your thirst.
- Efficient Ordering: The ordering process is designed for speed and convenience, often utilizing touch screens or direct interaction with the knowledgeable cooks right at the counter.
TEN Ramen stands out in the Dallas culinary scene for its distinctive features and commitment to quality.
- Authentic Tokyo-Style Experience: The most notable feature is the standing-room-only counter, mirroring traditional Japanese ramen stalls. This design creates a dynamic, focused, and truly authentic dining environment where you're up close with the chefs.
- Freshly Made, High-Quality Food: Customers consistently praise the freshness of the ingredients and the fact that the food is prepared right in front of them. This transparency highlights the dedication to quality and ensures a hot, delicious meal.
- Expert Cooks and Knowledgeable Staff: Reviewers frequently mention the great service and the cooks' knowledge of the menu, who are happy to suggest dishes, enhancing the customer experience.
- Intensely Flavorful Broths and Noodles: TEN Ramen is celebrated for its rich, silky broths and perfectly cooked noodles, which are often described as "flavor-packed" and "delicious."
- Unique Maze-men Offering: The availability of Maze-men (brothless ramen) is a significant highlight, providing a different and equally satisfying ramen experience for those who prefer noodles tossed in a rich sauce.
- Cozy and Intimate Atmosphere: Despite being standing-room only, many find the atmosphere "cozy" and "dimly lit, filled with Japanese decorations," creating an "underground feel" that adds to its charm.
- Quick Service: The restaurant's setup is designed for efficiency, ensuring quick service even during busy periods, making it ideal for a delicious meal when you're short on time.
While TEN Ramen maintains a focused menu, they have been known to offer periodic specials. Information from customer reviews and online sources suggests that they occasionally have "weekly specials written up on the board." To stay informed about any current or upcoming promotions, it is recommended to:
- Visit their physical location: Specials are often displayed on a chalkboard within the restaurant, reflecting a traditional approach.
- Check popular food delivery apps: While not guaranteed, restaurants sometimes offer exclusive deals through platforms like Uber Eats or DoorDash.
- Look for updates on local food blogs or social media: Dallas food enthusiasts and bloggers often share information about specials at popular local spots like TEN Ramen.
Given their focus on a concise menu and authentic experience, their promotions might be more about seasonal ingredients or unique ramen variations rather than extensive discounts, so keeping an eye out for these special offerings is advisable.

TEN Ramen Reviews
The food was delicious freshly made right in front of you by the cooks. We had the spicy Maze-men, Vegetarian ramen and Edemame. The vegetarian ramen was nice & hot & well season for my taste. My daughter had the Spicy Maze-men it's a bit too spicy for her she said the meat had a good taste and it was not hard (she just lost 2 teeth, 2 days ago that had her consern of eating meat). The unique experience of eating standing can be surpassed as the food was good and I shared the meals with he daughters. The atmosphere is cozy.
March 27 · Keila RosasSo here at Ten Ramen, you guys it was my first time eating Ramen at a restaurant!! The service was great, the cooks were very knowledgeable of the menu and suggested things for me to eat! The food was really good, I definitely enjoyed it! The downfall was the atmosphere, it was very cold outside and there’s just bar top sitting in a very small space so each time the door open you about froze to death! I would just suggest more space but other than that, the atmosphere would be good!!
April 15 · Specyal MillsThis place okay, I heard great reviews had to try it, been going to different ramen places and this one was one of the ones that was on the list. It's in front of the market place. Let me tell you it took us 10min to find it. It's literally in front of the market sign. Next to a juice store I think. It's really small inside, first come first serve to get a space to set your plates on the board. It is pretty expensive, you have to order on a tablet or your phone. I recommend the lobster ramen, don't know if it did have lobster or it was shrimp but it was a little piece. I recommend you try it it's okay worth it just to try it. Feels like you are in Japan because of the space and the kitchen you can see them fix up your plates.
January 14 · Romario PedrazaWe love this place! It is called Ten ramen because the ramen you will get is 10/10! My husband and I have moved away and we compare every ramen we eat to Ten ramen. No one else compares. Recently in Dallas for a layover and our first stop was here. Trust me it’s the real deal, wish they would open a store in Charleston, SC!!
February 01 · Andrea PetersonI got a to go order and assumed it was all there. Drove back 15 minutes to get the rest of my order and one would think they would at minimum apologize if not compensate the mistake. For more of a shoulder shrug of oh well. Overall it’s overpriced compared to other places as well. Charging $1 for the spicy and anything else and then 15% for takeout is excessive.Maybe a dine in experience would have been better but then the place is quite small.
