The owners' roots in Tokyo bring a level of authenticity that can be hard to find elsewhere, promising a dining experience that feels both traditional and heartfelt. Despite the occasional note on wait times due to their small team, customers consistently highlight the incredible freshness of the fish and the attentive service, making Tokyo Shokudo a beloved spot for those who appreciate quality and a personal touch in their dining.

- Simple and Unpretentious Atmosphere: The "simple setup" creates a relaxed and unpretentious environment, allowing the focus to remain squarely on the quality of the food and the warmth of the service.
Due to its nature as a small, family-run establishment focused on high-quality, authentic cuisine, Tokyo Shokudo may not frequently run large-scale promotional campaigns like larger chain restaurants. However, their charm often lies in their consistent pricing and the inherent value of an authentic experience.
While public reviews do not explicitly mention ongoing daily specials or happy hour deals, it is always a good practice for locals to inquire directly with the restaurant. Given their personalized approach, they might offer unadvertised daily specials based on the freshest ingredients available, or seasonal dishes that showcase their culinary expertise. Tokyo Shokudo Reviews
Such a hidden gem in Atlanta! The fishes are incredibly fresh, and the service is attentive. The wait time can be slightly longer (but reasonable) due to the entire restaurant being operated by a lovely old Japanese couple from Tokyo, but the food really make it worth it.
Jul 09, 2023 · Eric MNot sure what the hype is with Tokyo Shokudo. Went there to check it out. My wife and I have been to a lot of sushi restaurants, and nothing compares to those in Japan. But we got super excited when we found out that the owners were from Japan.Food: sushi was just okay. My favorite was surprise by my the fried oyster and draft Japanese beer.Service: you have to be patient. It’s only the couple running it. I’d recommend making reservation for when they first open.Atmosphere: just a simple setup. We spent about $300 there, so we did have a lot of food to try. We’ll probably not be returning. But It may still be worth a try, and yall may have a different experience than ours.
Aug 28, 2024 · john leeI feel like I'm eating at someone's home and they are doing their best to satisfy their guests with delicious food.Walking into the restaurant, it feels very ordinary. You wonder why a place like this is "reservation only" and only open for 3-4 hours each day. I think it's wonderful they do that! Those limits allow for great sushi quality and more acute attention towards their guests at a price point that doesn't require breaking the bank. They are quite generous with the amount of fish. It felt nice feeling like I always got the "correct" amount of fish for my nigiri.Thank you! I will be back. ごちそうさまでした。
May 06, 2024 · Moon ChungIf you're looking for authentic Japanese food, Tokyo Shokudo is the place to go! I recently visited this restaurant and was blown away by the quality of the food. The hamachi kama was a standout dish for me and had a unique flavor that I couldn't find anywhere else. What impressed me most about Tokyo Shokudo was the attention to detail from the Japanese chef. You can really taste the authenticity in every dish, and it's clear that every ingredient is carefully selected and prepared to perfection.Overall, I highly recommend Tokyo Shokudo for anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Japanese dining experience. Whether you're a seasoned sushi lover or just looking to try something new, you won't be disappointed by the incredible food and impeccable service at this restaurant.
Feb 26, 2023 · RJO NetworksDelicious, authentic Japanese food! The fish was fresh and everything else was so good. They are a little slow because it's a husband and wide team, but well worth the wait. This is not your typical cheap sushi, so they won't have a lot of rolls with tempura or mayo smeared all over.
