Lunch Specials: As a common practice in many Japanese restaurants, Tomokazu likely offers lunch specials during weekdays (Monday-Friday). These specials often provide a combination of sushi, main entrees, and sides at a more affordable price point, making them an excellent value for a midday meal. Reviewers mention "the lunch special of sashimi and tonkatsu, or the chirashi bowl."
Complimentary Dessert: The "FREE DESSERT Ice Cream" at the end of the meal is a consistent and much-appreciated perk that adds value to the dining experience. While not a discount on the main meal, it's a delightful added benefit that encourages customer satisfaction and repeat visits.

This inherent value might be considered a standing offer for many customers.
Online Delivery Platform Deals: When ordering through platforms like DoorDash or Uber Eats, customers might occasionally find platform-specific promotions such as "free delivery" for first-time users or special discounts offered by the platform itself, which would apply to Tomokazu's menu.

Tomokazu Japanese Cuisine Reviews
Wonderful local Japanese restaurant with fresh seafood and excellent service!
Mar 30, 2025 · Steve ChoyThis place is not for me, but I don’t want to write a negative review because the staff were soooo nice.I tried the beef udon, the portion is huge but the quality of ingredient is just very mediocre. This place is affordable for a reason. The soup is just soy sauce flavored, and the beef is just so hard to chew. They use cabbage as the veggie which is another affordable ingredient that will fill you up. Even tho the staff were so nice, the food is just hard to swallow….Overall, I would recommend cutting the portion in half and use better ingredients.
Jul 19, 2024 · S DuanStandard sushi spot. Got rolls and scallops as takeout. Good quality, higher prices, wide selection of your common rolls and sashimi.
Nov 15, 2024 · Fei YuWe are big fans of Tomokazu. Their sushi is always fresh, though sometimes the food prep can seem a little rushed. Their soup udon comes in a massive clay pot and is chock full of noodles, meat or chicken, tofu, shiitake mushrooms, and napa cabbage. The dish is huge and perhaps one of the best value items on the menu. The service is solid and always very friendly. A great spot for Japanese cuisine in the Burlingame/Peninsula area!
Jan 07, 2023 · Erick TsengThis restaurant has a nice homey atmosphere. They have tatami style seating which was really cute (but we didn’t get to sit there). The service is really slow but it was also really busy. The waiters were all really nice. The sashimi quality was really good, particularly their tuna cuts. They also had a lot of offerings that were sets, which I think seemed really worth it.There is a wide variety on the menu, but I highly recommend getting the Chirashi and any of their sashimi, particularly the tuna.I will definitely be back to try their other dishes, maybe something non sushi next time :)
