Service was fast, especially with the never ending long lines (get there early!). The servers were fast, respectful and diligent. My water cup was never empty! Anything tempura I recommend, light, crispy and not oily. I got the katsu egg n rice with side of udon and it was perfectly balanced. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a solid meal. Also outdoor seating perfectly suited for pups!

Apr 15, 2025 · Kayla TaiGreat new restaurant for udon. Interesting mix of classic Japanese flavors to modern/fusion blends. Karaage chicken and agedashi tofu were perfect. Tempura gyoza was an interesting twist on a common dish. Clean, modern atmosphere inside. Cozy patio dining outside. If you're itching for noodles, this is the place to scratch it!
Apr 17, 2025 · Sam WongFantastic new addition to the downtown San Mateo food scene. Delicious udon in a flavorful soup base, with well-cooked meat and tempura. Fast and friendly service, and there’s a large paid parking lot behind the restaurant. Only downside is the wait could be 40+ minutes, but there are plenty of places to explore in downtown San Mateo while you wait.
May 19, 2025 · Wei-Ai TaiUnexpectedly ran into this restaurant in San Mateo. The interior is beautiful. The seating is comfortable and spacious. There are plenty of servers for fast service. I was able to get in and out very quickly.I ordered the tonkatsu deluxe. 10000% recommend. The broth was so flavorful. You get a side of some powder that you can add to make the broth even more flavorful. I didn't use all of it since the soup was already delicious to me. The toppings were perfectly cooked. I couldn't resist taking a photo of my perfectly executed egg.The takeout menu includes detailed information on how to reheat the noodles. Very considerate!
