Umai Reviews
Hard to spot from the outside—there’s no sign, so it’s easy to walk right past without realizing there’s a restaurant there. Once inside, the space is actually pretty nice. High ceilings, big windows with a nice street view, and some funky music playing in the background give it a cool, laid-back vibe.We tried the udon kare, shrimp tempura, and sukiyaki. Everything was good—satisfying and well-prepared—but nothing that totally wowed us. Solid comfort food.Service-wise, things felt a bit flat. Not unfriendly, but not especially warm either. Kind of a “just okay” vibe overall. One thing worth mentioning—the bathroom could really use some attention. Floor was sticky, and it didn’t feel super clean, which is always a bit of a red flag to me.So overall, nice atmosphere and decent food, but with room to improve when it comes to hospitality and cleanliness.
Apr 13, 2025 · Asif RehmaniThe place is nice and the sushi is good!Only the ramen recipe is too much spicy, be aware of it. The lemon martini was quite bad to be honest. Maybe I just didn’t chose the best options, but the service was 10/10
Mar 11, 2025 · Malena BartaburuCame here on Memorial Day with a group of 6 and they got us in within 20 minutes, which was pretty solid. Saw their chef special had mentaiko ramen and umi—unfortunately, they were out of the umi, which kinda sucked. But the ramen? So good. Super creamy and rich—if you’re into carbonara vibes or pasta dishes, you’ll definitely like this one. Not sure how long it’ll be on the menu though.I also got the yuzu sour. It was alright—tasted a bit watered down, but it still hit.
May 27, 2025 · Selena SThis is a great spot to grab a bite with friends! Walked in with a small group and was seated immediately. Cool vibes in the spot with high ceilings makes it feel like you’re away from home. The sweet potato sushi was tasty and a large roll. Fair prices for the area. Great location by the blue line too.
Feb 27, 2025 · Lou LouStellar fresh sushi, with a great variety of options. The miso soup is very good and the sushi rolls are a lovely size. 2 perfectly feed a hungry person with a shared app.
