UMAI Sushi & Hibachi Reviews
Appetizers are delicious and the accompanied sauce has the perfect ratio of heat and creaminess. Maki rolls have a good rice to fish ratio although they lean towards being on the big side. Nigiri is decent. The sushi rice leans a little more to the vinegar side and the eel sauce is a little too sweet after a few pieces. The sushi is on par with other AYCE buffets. Ironically, I enjoyed the appetizers more than the sushi. The fried soft crab, calamari, takoyaki, and the baby octopus salad are nothing short of delicious. When ordering, just order a little at a time to avoid paying extra. If there was one thing this place could do better, it would be the environment. There is so much empty space that it feels almost too sterile. The decor on the wall is nice.I would also like to add that there was only one server to attend to customers. She is very kind and accommodating to my needs and I appreciate that very much. From a business standpoint, a second server might prove helpful if there were more customers. All in all, the food is good, especially the appetizers. If you can eat more than 3-4 maki rolls, then the buffet is worth your money. Otherwise, stick to their takeout specials.
