This culinary approach provides a refreshing twist on classic Japanese cuisine.
- High-Quality Ingredients and Presentation: Despite varied opinions on some dishes, there's a strong emphasis in reviews on the "attention to detail and high quality of flavors and plating." - Complimentary Edamame: A nice touch mentioned by a customer is the complimentary, nicely salted edamame included with seating, which is a thoughtful gesture and a pleasant start to the meal.
- Thoughtful Dessert Presentation: Even with "simple and light" desserts, the presentation is not overlooked, offering a satisfying and aesthetically pleasing end to the meal, especially after a multi-course dinner.
Based on the provided customer reviews, Wasabi actively participates in local culinary events, specifically "restaurant week." This indicates that they offer special menus and pricing during these designated periods, providing a fantastic opportunity for both new and returning customers to experience their unique Japanese cuisine at a potentially reduced cost. Wasabi Reviews
Want to go on a nice date night, light food and an intimate atmosphere I'd go here. The food though leaves much to be desired. Reason being is lack of flavor. The Octopus was rubbery and tasted like nothing. Grilled squid also mostly bland. Dumpling skins were over done BUT the flavor was good. The scallops were the best part of the meal.So 1.5 of 4 dishes being worth it I'd suggest trying somewhere else if you are looking for good food. If you're looking for a cozy, kind of a trendy spot and aren't worried too much of the flavor (and price for what you get) then come here. The ambiance is really nice.
Jul 22, 2023 · H ReyesCame to try the food during restaurant week, and was not disappointed. Not the typical Japanese meals and presentation, but food was very delicious and always worth trying new restaurants participating in restaurant week. Edamame came nicely salted and included with seating, which was enough to share with the whole table. Their popcorn chicken and shrimp dumplings were delicious as appetizers and again, the flavors were a great combination and very good. Two of us at the table had salmon and both said it was cooked perfectly and the sauce that it was paired with was fantastic, the sauce in fact was so good, we wished there was more to have with the rice that came with salmon. The duck was very tasteful, but slightly overcooked. It is not typical for a Japanese restaurant to have mashed potatoes, but paired well and we're nice and fluffy. The desserts were simple and light, but their presentation was still not overlooked. After a 3 course meal it was appreciated to have a smaller dessert with a piece of fruit, and those were good too. The pricing of the regular menu may seem a little high, but the attention to detail and high quality of flavors and playing were worth it.
Apr 15, 2023 · kevin bI’ve been to this place so many times over the years, but after tonight, I don’t think I’ll ever go back. I came here with my mom for Mother’s Day, hoping for a nice night out. I’m 21 and decided to order a drink. As soon as I looked up from the menu and asked, the waitress gave me this look — like a full-on, judgmental, “are you serious?” look.I get it. I look young, and I completely understand that they need to check IDs. But that look was so unnecessary and made me feel completely out of place. I’ve never been anywhere where ordering a legal drink felt so uncomfortable. Just ask for my ID and move on — that’s all it takes. But instead, she stood there, eyeing me like I was some kid trying to get away with something. It was humiliating. What made it even worse? The second she realized I was actually of age after checking my ID, her whole attitude changed. Suddenly, I was treated like a “real” customer instead of some annoying kid. The shift was so obvious and honestly really unprofessional. It completely ruined what was supposed to be a nice night out with my mom.I shouldn’t have to feel like I’m being judged for ordering a drink. Just do your job, check the ID, and move on. It’s not that hard. But the whole experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that I don’t know if I’ll be coming back anytime soon.
May 12, 2025 · Emily PierceVisited this establishment as they appear to just have opened for the day.The drinks were not prepared correctly and were either too strong or the taste was just off.The sushi was tasteful. Their menu is a bit confusing but make sure to ask the wait staff for items not on the menu. The decor is a bit bland and too dark for my taste.Wait staff were extremely attentive but that could have been because we were the only ones dining in. Nonetheless good service and good food.
May 31, 2023 · George EspinalI recently dined at this Japanese restaurant with 4 other friends we had an incredible experience that I can't wait to share! From start to finish, the meal was an absolute delight, and I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for top-notch Japanese cuisine. To start, we ordered the crispy tuna rice and was blown away by the dish's presentation and flavor. The tuna was perfectly cooked, and the rice was crispy and flavorful. It was a true masterpiece of a dish that I will definitely order again.Next up, we tried the rock shrimp, which was another standout dish. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the sauce had just the right amount of sweetness to balance the dish's heat. Finally, we had the truffle gyoza, and it was hands down one of the best dishes I have ever had. The gyoza were perfectly cooked and filled with a delicious truffle filling that was rich and flavorful. I could have eaten an entire plate of these and been completely satisfied. These were the perfect appetizers to start off the meal. We then went on to order individual rolls which all were extremely tasty! Throughout the meal, the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. They were knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. The dining room also felt upscale, with a modern and elegant decor that added to the overall experience. 10/10! Definitely coming back again!
