Yorokobi Sushi is conveniently located at 117 S Main St, Romeo, MI 48065, USA. This prime spot in the heart of downtown Romeo makes it incredibly accessible for local residents and those visiting the charming village. Being situated on South Main Street means it's easy to find, whether you're strolling through the historic area or arriving by car from neighboring Michigan communities.
The central location in Romeo offers more than just ease of access; it allows diners to enjoy their meal in a quintessential small-town setting. While specific parking details aren't always widely advertised, street parking is typically available in downtown areas, and often there are public lots within a short walking distance. This accessibility ensures that enjoying fresh, delicious sushi is a convenient outing for anyone in the greater Romeo area of Michigan.
Yorokobi Sushi focuses on providing a direct and high-quality dining experience centered around fresh sushi and Japanese dishes. While a smaller, more specialized establishment, they typically offer the following services to cater to their Michigan customers:
Dine-In Service: Enjoy the intimate and welcoming atmosphere of Yorokobi Sushi. Patrons can observe the sushi masters at work, creating their rolls with precision and care, which adds to the overall dining experience.
Counter Seating / Sushi Bar: A highlight for many, the ability to sit at the sushi bar allows for direct interaction with the chefs and a front-row view of the sushi preparation. This fresh-to-order approach is highly valued by customers.
Takeout Service: For those who prefer to enjoy Yorokobi's delicious offerings from the comfort of their home or on the go, convenient takeout service is available. You can call ahead to place your order for pick-up.
Custom Roll Requests: While not explicitly stated as a general service, the nature of a dedicated sushi bar often allows for some level of customization or unique recommendations from the chefs, particularly for adventurous diners.
These core services ensure that Yorokobi Sushi remains a flexible and appealing option for anyone in the Romeo, Michigan area looking for quality Japanese food, whether for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner.
Yorokobi Sushi is distinguished by several key features that consistently receive high praise from its local Michigan clientele. These highlights underscore why it's considered a beloved spot for Japanese cuisine:
Incredibly Fresh Sushi: This is arguably Yorokobi's most celebrated feature. Customers consistently rave about the freshness of the fish, emphasizing that the quality is top-notch. This commitment to fresh ingredients is paramount for a sushi restaurant and is a significant draw.
Masterful On-View Preparation: A unique aspect of Yorokobi is the ability to "view the master creating these incredible rolls." This transparency and showmanship not only assures diners of the freshness but also adds an entertaining element to the dining experience, making it more engaging for patrons.
Creative and Diverse Roll Selection: Yorokobi offers a wide array of sushi rolls, going beyond the basic options. Customer favorites include highly recommended specialty rolls such as the American Bulldog and Hawaiian rolls. The Snow and Spicy Tuna rolls are also frequently praised. The "Jedi" roll was also highlighted by a customer for its unique flavor.
"Hidden Gem" Status: Many local customers affectionately refer to Yorokobi as a "hidden gem." This often implies a place that offers exceptional quality or a unique experience that might not be widely known, but is highly valued by those who discover it. Its location on South Main Street adds to this charming perception.
Fast Service: Despite the intricate nature of sushi preparation, reviews mention "Fast service," which is a significant plus for diners, particularly during lunch hours or when looking for an efficient meal.
Consistently High Customer Satisfaction: The recurring five-star reviews and strong recommendations from customers ("We always speak highly of Yorokobi and recommend a visit," "3rd 5 star visit") indicate a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty. This suggests a consistent quality in both food and service.
Welcoming and Engaging Staff: While not explicitly detailed in provided reviews, the mention of "Kat" and the positive interactions ("asked Kat for something unique") suggests a friendly and helpful staff who are willing to engage with customers and offer recommendations, enhancing the personal touch of the dining experience.
As a smaller, highly focused sushi establishment, Yorokobi Sushi may not always publicly advertise extensive daily or weekly promotions in the same way larger chain restaurants might. However, this doesn't mean there aren't ways for locals in Michigan to potentially enjoy special value:
Ask Directly: The best approach for discovering any current specials, lunch deals, or seasonal offerings is always to inquire directly with the restaurant. When you call to place a takeout order or visit in person, simply ask if they have any current promotions or chef's specials. Many local gems often have unadvertised daily specials based on ingredient availability or chef creativity.
Look for In-Store Signage: Sometimes, local restaurants will display specials on whiteboards or small signs within the restaurant itself. Keep an eye out for these when you visit Yorokobi.
Seasonal Offerings: Sushi restaurants often feature seasonal fish or ingredients. While not a discount, these can be considered "special offers" in terms of unique culinary experiences. Inquiring about what's fresh and in season can lead to delightful discoveries.
Since Yorokobi is known for its freshness and quality, any specials are likely to be focused on highlighting the best available ingredients or providing a unique culinary creation, rather than just price cuts. For local Michigan sushi enthusiasts, staying connected by visiting or calling is the most reliable way to find out about any current or upcoming offers.

Apr 12, 2025 · Alayne WaterstraatExcellent!I stopped in on a Friday at lunch and asked Kat for something unique "Jedi" was first on the list. Great flavor! Fast service, good food, this place is a hidden GEM in my opinion. 3rd 5 star visit. I added a photo of the Sushi Supreme roll.
Feb 14, 2025 · Andrew Charles EvanchSoooo good! Eat here as much as you can! Food is excellent! The jalapeno fried rice is AMAZING!!!!
Apr 30, 2025 · Michelle DalyMy first time ever going to this restaurant Was not an enjoyable experience. My husband, his friend and I walked in and we are immediately Seated by the waitress, which was great. We then sat for about 20 minutes without anyone giving us menus or asking if we wanted water or any beverage. About a half hour after sitting there with no one coming to our table we’re told that they can Not serve us because they were out of food and still had orders to fill. Not a good first experience. Needless to say we won’t be going back. If they were out of food, we should have been told that immediately, Not after 30 minutes of waiting. Sunrise hibachi at 26 mile in Van Dyke was able to get us in right away and the food was exceptional! We will be going back there in the future.Edit to respond to the owner below:If your times show that we only sat for 3 minutes before being told we couldn’t be served, then your times are wrong. We definitely sat there longer than 3 minutes.
Apr 22, 2025 · RachealThe jalapeño fried rice is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. The added gratuity tip for carry out… that was surprising. The portions could be a tad bit more generous. the atmosphere is nice and the food is really good. I highly recommend it.Edited :ONE MORE THING, I didn’t include in my initial review and should have, as people should be Aware , the added gratuity is intentionally being flown under the radar … there is a tiny hand written sign on the front door (that another merchants previously shared) AND when I picked up my carryout, the cashier printed out two receipts.. neither were itemized, just a TOTAL, I thought was strange for a restaurant? especially since I was sharing the bill with a coworker.. I asked the cashier why they didn’t print out at least one itemized receipt… she said “we only do if you ask”…. Mmmm .. transparency is important. Keep your Service, food and value right & I’m sure customers would be happy to pay the additional “fees” ps I truly hope that gratuity goes to the waiters and waitresses.
