The atmosphere at Yummy Teriyaki appears to be casual and unpretentious, aligning with a typical quick-service or neighborhood teriyaki establishment. While the reviews don't delve deeply into the overall ambiance, one customer did "really love the decorations," suggesting that there is some effort made to create a pleasant, if not elaborate, dining space. As a teriyaki spot, it’s likely designed for efficiency, offering a comfortable yet straightforward environment for diners who are looking for a satisfying meal without a lengthy sit-down experience. This kind of setting fits the "Doctor Near Me" model, where the focus is on a quick and effective solution rather than an extended, immersive experience.
Yummy Teriyaki focuses on efficient and friendly service, primarily catering to both dine-in and take-out customers.
- Dine-in: Customers can choose to eat at the restaurant, where the service is noted for its efficiency. One review specifically highlights "excellent service by the owner," noting that "He would take your empty plate away for you," which suggests a hands-on and attentive approach to customer care.
- Take-out: As is common with teriyaki restaurants, take-out is a primary service, appealing to those who prefer to enjoy their meal at home or on the go. The quick preparation time typically associated with teriyaki establishments makes this a convenient option.
- Delivery: While not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, it is highly probable that Yummy Teriyaki partners with third-party delivery services, a standard practice for many casual dining spots to expand their reach and offer convenience to customers.
Yummy Teriyaki's menu centers around classic Japanese teriyaki dishes, aiming to deliver comforting and familiar flavors.
- Chicken Teriyaki: This appears to be a staple item, with one customer noting that the chicken was "moist." However, the sauce was described as "a bit salty" by the same reviewer.
- Spicy Chicken Teriyaki: Another popular option, the spicy chicken teriyaki, was appreciated for its "unique flavor compared to others" and had an "okay" level of spiciness.
- Rice: The white rice accompanying the dishes was noted for having "the perfect softness," though it was described as "underwhelming" by one customer, possibly due to a lack of accompanying soy sauce as they noted.
- Salad: The side salad and dressing were described as "cool" but "nothing note worthy," suggesting they are standard accompaniments.
- Flavor Profile: While the chicken itself is often found to be moist, there is mixed feedback on the sauce, with some finding it salty. The "unique flavor" of the spicy chicken teriyaki suggests that the restaurant attempts to differentiate its offerings.
An objective introduction to Yummy Teriyaki requires a balanced presentation of customer feedback, which in this case offers a mixed perspective.
On the positive side, the service receives high praise. The "excellent service by the owner" is a consistent highlight, indicating a personal touch and attentiveness that customers appreciate. The "moist" chicken teriyaki is also a positive aspect, suggesting that the core protein is well-prepared. Additionally, the "unique flavor" of the spicy chicken teriyaki suggests that some dishes offer a distinctive taste profile compared to competitors. The softness of the white rice is also noted as a positive textural element, and the "decorations" were appreciated by one customer.
However, there are also areas where customers found the experience to be less than ideal. The overall impression from one "die hard Teriyaki fan" was that the "food was average at best." Specific criticisms include the chicken teriyaki sauce being "a bit salty," the spicy chicken teriyaki lacking in "presentation," and the absence of soy sauce which was deemed "critical when it comes to serving white rice." The white rice, despite its softness, was felt to be "underwhelming," and the salad and dressing were considered unremarkable. These points suggest that while the restaurant may excel in service, the consistency and depth of flavor in its food might vary or not meet the expectations of all discerning teriyaki enthusiasts. The lack of soy sauce provided automatically was also a point of frustration for a customer, highlighting a potential oversight in standard teriyaki presentation.
Thus, Yummy Teriyaki appears to be a casual dining establishment with a strong emphasis on customer service, particularly from the owner. While the food is generally considered acceptable and certain aspects like the chicken's moisture and the unique spicy teriyaki flavor are appreciated, some patrons found the overall culinary experience to be average, with concerns about sauce saltiness, presentation, and the lack of standard condiments.
Based on the available customer reviews, the following aspects could serve as promotional points for Yummy Teriyaki:
- Exceptional Service: The most consistent positive feedback revolves around the "excellent service by the owner." This is a significant promotional advantage, highlighting a welcoming and attentive dining experience.
- Moist Chicken: The mention of "moist" chicken teriyaki can attract customers who prioritize the texture and tenderness of their meat.
- Unique Spicy Teriyaki Flavor: For those seeking a different take on classic teriyaki, the "unique flavor" of the spicy chicken teriyaki could be a compelling reason to visit.
- Casual and Decorated Environment: The positive comment about the "decorations" suggests that the restaurant provides a visually appealing, albeit casual, space for dining.
- Local Convenience: Its location in Bothell and its quick-service nature inherently promote it as a convenient option for a fast Japanese meal in the area.
In summary, Yummy Teriyaki in Bothell, WA, offers a casual Japanese dining experience primarily focused on teriyaki dishes. It stands out for its "excellent service by the owner" and a welcoming, if unelaborate, atmosphere. While customers appreciate the moistness of the chicken teriyaki and the unique flavor of the spicy chicken teriyaki, some aspects of the food, such as sauce saltiness and overall presentation, have received mixed reviews. It serves as a straightforward option for those in search of a quick and convenient teriyaki meal in the Bothell area, offering a reliable, if not always outstanding, solution to immediate hunger.

Yummy Teriyaki Reviews
First time here…Excellent service by the owner. He would take your empty plate away for you.I have to say the chicken teriyaki was moist, however sauce was a bit salty
Jan 28, 2025 · Seth MAs a die hard Teriyaki fan, the food was average at best. I ordered a Spicky Chicken teriyaki and presentation was lacking, it did not come with soy sauce which is critical when it comes to serving white rice. The chicken was (okay) spicy but I did appreciate the unique flavor compared to others, the white rice had the perfect softness but felt underwhelming, salad and dressing was cool nothing note worthy. I really love the decorations though.
Jan 12, 2025 · Edgar MWe ordered chicken and beef teriyaki and are not happy with the service and food quality. They brought us food with sauce dripping from the plate. The sauce itself, like the beef are expired! Please improve the quality of products!
Feb 01, 2023 · Alex BudchaninI really hate leaving bad reviews but don't order the chicken teriyaki! We just ordered it along with fried rice. It tastes so bland. I got chicken teriyaki but the chicken had all the fats, bone and cartilage in it. Husband ordered spicy teriyaki and it isnt spicy at all like it is very bland. Fried rice looks like they added shrimp, peas, beef to it and that is about it. Such a shame! I will not be ordering from this place again. If I could give zero stars I would.
Sep 06, 2020 · Zee BuffingtonGotta say I like the decor and set up. The person taking out order was very nice but in my opinion where they lost me was with the actual food. Ordered the beef and chicken teriyaki spicy. The rice was not cooked properly! It was clumpy and had hard pieces of rice in it. The meat was also not very tasty ( the sauce was lacking) the salad on the other hand was very fresh. The price point was ok but not for the quality.
