Unique Menu Item Exploration: The restaurant's diverse menu, including intriguing options like sparkling sake, various specialty rolls, and different ramen styles (like their acclaimed Curry Ramen), serves as its own kind of special offer. The opportunity to try unique and expertly crafted items that might not be available elsewhere is a significant draw.
Seasonal Offerings: High-quality Japanese restaurants often feature seasonal ingredients or "omakase" (chef's choice) options that highlight the freshest catches or seasonal produce. While not explicitly stated, it's common for such establishments to have rotating specials that leverage seasonal availability.
Atmosphere and Service as a Perk: The "cozy and comforting ambiance" and the "friendly, attentive" service from the "bad-ass all-women team" contribute immensely to the overall dining experience. Yuzu Reviews
In a SW strip mall. There’s no obvious signage. Blacked-out windows.YET, Yuzu packs out.We get there just before they open to get a table.Last night was a treat: Tried sparkling sake (I'm a sucker for bubbles). The blue bottle—bedazzling. The tiny glass—adorable. Jury's out on pairing it with ramen—can’t beat a Japanese lager. Here we go...Gyoza: paper-thin wrapper, crisp on the bottom, delicious, tender filling. Never enough.Agedashi tofu (inhaled, so no photo): delicate tofu in an equally delicate crispy coating.Chicken karage: tender enough to "sever" with chopsticks (after swooping in on my first bit-too-big molten piece). Kewpie mayo and lemon—what's not to love?Curry ramen (make-you-cough medium spicy): I like this ramen when I'm up for something robust—big flavors to the bottom of the bowl (I tapped out on the last third of broth—I tried, but sparkling sake, gyoza, tofu, chicken...!).Service: Gotta say it: They're a bad-ass all-women team (for a while now). Friendly, attentive service. Zen-like line—pleasure to watch as they create our food.Simple, clean décor (love the high-back banquette).Always a fantastic experience.Visit #: lost countI would recommend Yuzu to:1) Military friends previously stationed in Japan2) Animé fans (anime soundtracks play in the background)3) First-time ramen-ers (lucky!)
Jan 23, 2025 · Sharyn InzunzaEverything here is really delicious! The ramen is the best in town. The ambiance is cozy and comforting. All the dishes were very high quality as well.My only complaint is that the portion sizes are a bit small. It takes multiple dishes to get full.
Oct 20, 2023 · Eliana SternaIt’s like a secret restaurant in the corner lol cuz I was confused and I walked around and found them!Nice little Japanese own restaurant and their food are really good tbh. But the Raman can be kinda salty, and if they are delicious if you ask for little spicy on it.
Jan 16, 2025 · Jay CHave been to this place in 2022 and 2023, both were very good experiences. Food was fresh and tasty. However we just visited tonight after 2 years -omg did they have a new owner/chef?can’t find anything good about this place. Food was bad- we had ramen and it tasted like instant noodles with very small portion of noodles and toppings. The salmon rice don -rice was horrible mushy with small portion of salmon and roes.Very disappointing experience and unfortunately it will be removed from my go to list.
Apr 16, 2025 · D CI am from Japan, my extended family all own Japanese noodle restaurants in Japan. I can tell you, this food definitely is authentic and delicious and reminded me of home! They are masterful with frying, we had fried squid, fried chicken, pan-fried gyoza, it was all just about the best version of those I've eaten. Menu is varied, something for everyone.
