Zen Ramen & Sushi Reviews
Some friends and I stumbled across this place on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend for dinner. The staff was incredibly friendly and seated us right away without a reservation. Casual yet nice, I immediately knew it was going to be good by the scent of the food as we walked in, the paper menus, the simple decor, etc. I think the words we used were, “this place is legit.”We all ordered sushi, where you can do preset combos or create your own. The prices are so reasonable, and if you go from 3-8pm any day of the week, you can order off of the happy hour menu for $5 a roll. The sushi was great, I liked the spicy tuna roll and the spicy salmon roll. I also ordered the spicy yellowtail which was admittedly not my favorite compared to other sushi places. But I left very full and satisfied!Lily was our waitress, and she was so happy to serve us. It was my birthday and she made sure to take extra good care of us and provided a birthday treat. The location is hidden in plain sight, steps away from Penn Station. 5/5 stars!
May 25, 2025 · Ann VogelI was looking for something to eat after work and randomly came across this japanese restaurant — and wow, what a gem! I ordered takoyaki, vegetable ramen, and shrimp tempura sushi. I forgot about my self-control for a moment and ate everything in one sitting because it was that good 😅😋 This place definitely just became one of my favorite japanese restaurants in NYC. Highly recommend!
May 21, 2025 · KorneliaWe went to celebrate the end of the courses with a friend, on Friday evening, we were immediately seated at a table for two, it was under the stairs, and we heard every time someone went down the stairs, this restaurant has two floors. It was a little uncomfortable, it seemed that someone was about to fall on our heads) .While we were waiting for our order) . But when they brought my spicy tomato ramen with seafood and a sushi set, I stopped paying attention to the noise around us and discomfort. The food here is really great, and fresh, authentic Asian. I highly recommend it.
Mar 30, 2025 · Jane ShOne of the best, if not, the best places I've gone for ramen and sushi.Everything about this place was great. The service, cleanliness, serving sizes, atmosphere, and everything in between. We're visiting NYC and this place was recommended to me, I was unaware of their happy hour that has a TON of options on it for only $5ea, which for sushi, is CHEAP.Cheap here does not denote quality. The quality of the sushi, ramen, and curry were still top notch.HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Jan 28, 2025 · Joe GuacciDec 2024:Enjoyed the meal! They had a happy hour from 4-8pm—$5 rolls. I think they were pretty good for the price although I have had better sushi. They have a whole 2nd floor now, Great ambience and enjoyed the service even though it was super busy we were at very well.
