AFURI Ramen Culver City Reviews
We tried this place for dinner on our recent trip. The area that it’s in was a short walk from where we were staying and we were feeling sushi. We got an order of dumplings, salmon roll, tuna roll, and chicken for our daughter. We got it to-go so we could enjoy the views of the Culver City steps. The service was slow and it was pretty pricey ($62 for these items and 2 bottles of water). But, the food was good once we got it.
Apr 04, 2025 · Jimmy KruegerThe Torigara shoyu seems like a new item in their offering. At $14 it is one of the best value ramen around. It was light, yet so flavorful. The thin noodles works really well with it, it was firm , tasted fresh and it has such a good satisfying flavor to it that only crazy ramen aficionados like me can appreciate . It will be one of my regular orders from now on.*note sometimes a new staff might be serving you and may not be aware of the off-menu item Torigara ramen. Just ask nicely and the kitchen will actually make it.One good change is they now offer extra noodles for $3. For the longest time they did not offer that option to my disappointment before . Thank you! :)The kaarage rice bowl to me was decent. Most will find it good. I just did not find that particular uber crunchy texture I was looking for in a kaarage. I will skip it from my order next time.Btw they do not close at 2:30pm anymore. I was rushing to chase the pm closing time. Thank god!As for parking, Culver is usually pretty hellish for parking. Fortunately, there is a 1hr free parking at the Trader Joe’s bldg nearby. Perfect to squeeze in grocery run after lunch. One more thing. I was not fan of their dumplings. But you can’t go wrong with all their light yuzu ramen offerings!—Only on Wednesdays - they now offer a Wagyu ramen. The description says tonkotsu Wagyu ramen. First thought was it is going to be the thick rich tonkotsu broth. It is not the rich tonkotsu broth, it was still the same lighter yuzu broth you might have been familar with but with a stronger aroma of beef tallow on the surface. Topping it is a large slice of very tender wagyu beef. The price is $32. Overall it was an excellent choice.—-A small update. Extra noodles are now $4 instead of $3.—Oh no.. the Torigara ramen is now $15 ?!
Apr 26, 2025 · Kendrick KhoeThis new ramen spot opened in Culver City so we decided to check it out. We joined the Yelp waiting list that said it would be about 5-7 minutes. But we were seated about 40 minutes later. Assuming there was some confusion with the tables we didn’t think anything of it. We sat & ordered their hazelnut ramen (vegetarian) the broth was delicious, sad they didn’t have any source of protein, not even tofu. We ordered their bok choy & a shrimp roll. Both tasted good. At the end they had mixed up our bills & we had to wait about 15 minutes for them to sort it out before we could leave. There was no complimentary gesture for their mistake. Our order was around $80 for the 2 ramen, roll & bok choy. I think it’s just a new place or they just have new staff that’s figuring it out. Overall it was an interesting experience, but maybe it was an off day. Would still come back for the hazelnut ramen!
Jan 29, 2025 · Kiran SinghThe ramen was really good, thin noodles, tasty broth, runny egg, and one slice of soft but crispy pork.Try the Yuzu Shio ramen for less citrus and Yuzu Shoyu ramen for more citrus. The interior also ate so there’s that.
Mar 17, 2025 · Xavier GomezI had this place delivered. Portions are tiny, everything is overpriced, and the food is nasty.A small cup of edamame was $8.80!!! The karaage donburi, which was barely the size of an appetizer, was $13.20. I didn't order these but for reference a crispy ramen egg is $9.90, and a salmon roll is $17.60. There's a small markup for delivery but even so, these prices are ridiculous for the portion you're getting. So if you're gonna be pricey then at least be delicious. The edamame was ok (I mean you can't mess up edamame), but the donburi was atrocious. The rice in the donburi was so mushy it lost its rice texture and just felt like a glob of starch. The chicken too was coated in a LOT of starch, I could barely taste the chicken. The bowl was then smothered in mayo and sweet chili soy, which made it way too salty.I gave it an extra star because my company paid for my food, so at least this viscerally terrible experience was free :)
