Akinori Sushi Reviews
such kind staff and chefs. incredible attention to detail, and interesting use of unique fish selections and flavors for each dish. incredibly delicious. we got the sashimi combo and the 10-piece omakase.they must opened 3 months ago, and the nice thing is they also like all of their neighbor businesses as well.another group dining there said they had the best sushi experience they had ever had before, and really appreciated the attention to detail on each dish.
January 03 · Rory McKennaHidden Gem in Pasadena: AkinoriSometimes the best meals are unplanned. Driving through Pasadena, I stumbled upon Akinori, and what a surprise it was!The food? DELISH. Fresh, delicate, and elevated with subtle touches like yuzu and special elements. Each bite was a flavor revelation. The Uni (Santa Barbara) melted like butter; the Golden Eye Snappers were sweet perfection. The decor is sleek and minimalist—warm wood, clean lines, and a serene vibe. Service? Impeccable, with just the right balance of attentiveness.Verdict: Akinori is a must-try for sushi lovers and food enthusiasts alike. Sometimes, the best discoveries are the ones you least expect. Go now—you won’t regret it!
December 06 · O PThis is our favorite sushi place now! Akinori sushi was wonderful. We’ll definitely be back. The staff are so friendly and nice. The sushi chefs are very talented. The fish was fresh — and they only use really high-quality ingredients, and as the chef explained to us - wild agi mackerel for instance, rather than farmed. The microgreens were really fresh.Their creations were fantastic — subtle and delicate tastes, and lots of little details (like real truffle oil, sesame-wasabi drizzle and white kombu) which I haven’t had have anywhere else. This is also the only place that serves real wasabi!!The chef and staff prepared each dish so carefully.I highly recommend trying their Omakase experience.Honestly this place provided a better sushi experience than many overpriced places in the area!
January 02 · Cheese MonsterNewly open sushi restaurant located in Pasadena. Since this is our first time here, we mostly went with what the chef recommendations. The food doesn’t disappoint. The rolls were great! The chef did not held back on the ingredients and the size was generous; they also weren’t overly sweet like many other places. However, our favourite had to be Chef’s Omakase dishes. It has a good mixture of white fish right up to the fatty Japanese Uni. If Uni is not something you want, the yellowtail belly is something that you cannot miss.If you are not having sushi, they also have ala carte items. We tried the miso baked BlackCod and it was simply wonderful! It could almost melt in your mouth.Overall a very pleasant experience! The food was fresh and delicious. The chef and staffs were very welcoming and accommodating. I would definitely be back.
October 30 · Rachaphon WangtepanukhorThis place really pleasantly surprised me. It's a small, clean, intimate space, great atmosphere for a relaxed, casual night out. The fish is really fresh, and the rolls are interesting/creative! A bit more expensive than your average sushi spot, but it's worth it to not have subpar fish, also we ordered a lot of food! Hope they stay around!
