Bistro Kaz Reviews
I’m always up for trying something new. When I found this Japanese-Italian restaurant, I had to give it a try. We went during lunch. They have two lunch combo options - one with pasta and one without. You get to choose one main dish and it comes with salad, soup and a drink. I ordered Cod Roe and Salmon Roe with butter soy sauce. The flavor was good and pasta was the right texture. However it was a bit too dry for my taste. I also tried squid ink pasta which was tasty. The chicken doria was creamy and cheesy. After our main meal, we ordered tiramisu, green tea Mont Blanc cake and pistachio ice cream. I think tiramisu needs a bit more espresso. The green tea cake on the bottom was a bit stale but green tea topping was great.Overall, it’s a good place for something different than normal Japanese/Italian Fare. The food came out fairly quick. The service was ok. The space was clean and a decent size. I would come back to try other non-pasta dishes.
Dec 17, 2024 · Bonnie YeI brought my Italian mother in law to try this restaurant out. We ordered a small house salad, a cabbage wrapped meatballs, a burger steak and a chicken pizza. All the foods are very tasty, the portion here isn’t that big so these amount of foods are right to us. The service is nice and friendly. And the restaurant feels cozy and quiet. It’s perfect for a date.
May 07, 2024 · LULU LIVE ArtAbsolutely exquisite. Beautiful food, wonderful atmosphere with music, great service. I’m Italian, but also love Japanese food. Match made in Heaven.
May 17, 2025 · Free Jazz EnthusiastI didn’t know what to expect when I first heard about this Italian-Japanese fusion restaurant, however, Bistro Kaz did not disappoint!Ambiance/Service:Our party of 4 went at 5:30pm on a Thursday and there was no wait for a table. The inside is pretty small with 2-4 person tables plus 4 bar seats. I saw a party of 6 inside and by looks of the tables, they could probably accommodate a party of up to 8. Outside, there were three 2-person tables. It looked like our server was the only one working the whole floor but still, she was very nice and attentive. The pizza and salmon belly came by quickly but the pastas took maybe 10-15 min longer.Food:-Unagi Eel Pizza ($20): eight square slices— perfect to share! I’d get this again.-Miso Marinated Salmon Belly ($20): served with rice. My husband says he enjoyed this plate and would get this again next time.-Creamy Sea Urchin with Salmon Roe Pasta ($36 for market price): Served with garlic bread. The flavor was very tasty, though I wish it could have been a little bit creamier. There was a decent amount of salmon roe though not too much of the sea urchin.Overall:Very interesting flavor profile but Bistro Kaz delivered. I enjoyed the dishes that our group tried, and would love to come back to try out more!
Jun 27, 2024 · Pauline SteeleWe did take out. It certainly is original. But the meat sauce pasta was bland and under seasoned. The salmon pasta was ok at best. And the roe pasta wasn't good. Aggressively average at best. There are definitely better places to eat in the same plaza. Just because something is new and trendy doesn't make it good.I ate there on April 28, 2025. Maybe it was an off night.
