Go Go Curry Times Square offers several distinct features that make it a compelling choice for Japanese fast food in NYC:
Signature Kanazawa-Style Curry: The restaurant is renowned for its specific take on Japanese curry – a darker, richer, and often thicker sauce than other varieties. This unique flavor profile is a major draw for fans of authentic Japanese comfort food.
Crispy, Delicious Katsu: A highlight for many is the quality of their katsu. The "pork katsu" is particularly recommended, described as "definitely get the pork katsu over the chicken!" The panko breading provides a satisfying crunch that complements the rich curry perfectly.
Quick and Efficient Service: Being a fast-food establishment, Go Go Curry is designed for speed. This efficiency makes it an ideal spot for a quick lunch or dinner, especially for those in the busy Times Square area who don't have time to spare.
Customizable Portions and Toppings: While there have been some concerns about portion control, the menu allows for customization with various sizes and an extensive list of toppings, letting customers build their ideal curry bowl.
Comfort Food Appeal: Japanese curry, particularly katsu curry, is a classic comfort food. Go Go Curry delivers on this, providing a warm, hearty, and satisfying meal that's perfect for any time of year.
Prominent Location: Situated in Times Square, it's easily accessible and serves as a convenient stop for locals and tourists alike who are looking for a quick and flavorful Japanese meal.
While the provided customer reviews primarily highlight changes in pricing rather than explicit promotions, Go Go Curry has historically engaged in various marketing efforts.
GoGo Curry Day (May 5th): Historically, Go Go Curry celebrates "GoGo Curry Day" on May 5th (5/5, pronounced "Go-Go"). This annual event often involves special giveaways, such as sets of "topping service coupons (premium tickets)" for customers dining in or ordering takeout/delivery on that specific day. These are typically one-time, annual promotions.
Golden Week (Go-Go Week) Campaigns: Leading up to GoGo Curry Day, there are often "Golden Week (Go-Go Week) Special Campaigns" with digital lotteries for luxurious prizes or giveaways of instant noodle sets. These are usually limited-time events tied to specific dates.
Combo Deals: Their "Home Run" and "Grand Slam" combo meals, while subject to price changes, are designed to offer a more comprehensive meal at a structured price point, potentially offering better value than ordering individual components.
It's important for New Yorkers interested in specific promotions to check Go Go Curry's official website, social media channels, or popular delivery apps (Grubhub, DoorDash, Uber Eats) as promotions can be seasonal or location-specific.

Go Go Curry Times Square Reviews
Just tried Go Go Curry for the first time in years, and wow, the prices have definitely increased! The Home Run Curry set used to be around $17, but now it's closer to $21. It also seems like they might be giving slightly less rice and vegetables. Despite the price bump, the food was still delicious, just like I remembered. And pro tip: definitely get the pork katsu over the chicken!
May 14, 2024 · H JCannot believe for the fact that I ordered the grand slam, I can’t even get the right amount of curry. I noticed an insufficient amount of curry for the portion I’m getting, decided to ask the staff member to fill it to the proper container line. They refused to, and instead told me to file a complaint because it’s company policy. Are you serious??? You guys are being cheap with half a ladle of curry??? It’s literally your namesake….. What do you think people come for? Air? Cause that’s what a 1/3 of my order is at this point. This is not the first time you’ve guys have had issues with portion control. I’ve been coming for years, but you guys are making it impossible to have customer retention with the direction you guys are heading towards. Asking for an obscene request is one thing, but asking for the proper amount of curry to a $34 order is another. Truthfully it’s just sad. Stop being oblivious to the problem, and do the right thing. Can’t wait for the generic “We’re sorry about that! We’ll look into it” reply
Aug 21, 2024 · Mitchell LaiThis place used to be so good. My chicken katsu was tough and rubbery. Instead of the thinly sliced cabbage (as shown in the menu pictures), they used what looked like grocery store cole slaw mix, which is more coarsely sliced and mixed with red cabbage and carrots. The curry sauce was very salty. The only thing actually good was the rice.
Jul 28, 2024 · Josh Tatsuo CullenBeen going to this location for over 15 years. This is a spot me and my siblings go to whenever we go to time square for quick lunch/dinner. What happened? This would be 5 stars everything the last time I was here. There were no more stainless steel plates. It was just on the to go bowls. And the serving was half the size of what it used to be. So weird. I asked to separate the curry sauce and the crew just looked at each other with a roll on their eyes. Sorry if I asked too much. The staff were always nice before. From what I remembered they usually have a container for separate sauce. Surprised today with the serving size, service and the place. No more Hideki Matsui clips inside. It used to be full of Matsui memorabilia. Food is still good but different than before, not as amazing as before, a little less tasty. Also they used to use thinly sliced cabbage on the side, this time they used like those prepacked salad on the side. Maybe this change was due to the pandemic. Did not want to leave a review but was really looking forward to eating here, but was disappointed on how it went. 🤷🏻♀️
Jul 22, 2023 · Icka ValThe style of curry at this place is good and ordering here is quite easy. This is definitely more of a take out location rather than a dine in one. While there are seats and tables available there are no restroom facilities available.
