For those in Massachusetts seeking an innovative twist on Japanese cuisine, Gogo Ya - Crispy Nori Sushi Tacos & Bento Bowls offers a truly unique and delicious experience. Located within the vibrant Time Out Market in Boston, Gogo Ya reimagines traditional sushi by transforming it into a handheld, crispy delight. Forget chopsticks; here, the focus is on "crispy nori sushi tacos" – a brilliant fusion concept that combines the satisfying crunch of a taco shell with the fresh, flavorful fillings of sushi. This isn't your typical fast-food joint; it's a chef-inspired endeavor that brings high-quality, creative Japanese-inspired dishes to a convenient and bustling food hall setting. It's an exciting alternative for sushi lovers and adventurous eaters alike.
Gogo Ya, under the visionary culinary direction of Chef Tim Cushman (of O Ya fame), aims to create "an unexpected experience or offer something most people haven't ever tried before." This philosophy is evident in their signature crispy nori tacos, where the seaweed shell is artfully tempura-fried to achieve an "unusually crispy" texture, then filled with gourmet ingredients. Beyond the tacos, Gogo Ya also excels in crafting satisfying bento bowls, featuring torched sashimi, fresh vegetables, and flavorful sauces over sushi rice. While the price point might be a bit higher than a conventional Mexican taco, customers consistently find the innovative flavors and unique presentation worth the "experience to see new ideas to be recreate from maki version of sushi, but better with added bits of flavorings." For locals looking to explore cutting-edge Japanese-inspired cuisine in a lively Boston atmosphere, Gogo Ya is a definite must-try.

Gogo Ya- Crispy Nori Sushi Tacos & Bento Bowls Reviews
Early at 1230pm Sunday, place was quiet which typically crowded later the same day! I see this nori tacos, unusually crispy seaweed? I had to try!! Ordered $20 for 2, spicy tuna and mushroom tacos. Interesting, yummy with spicy tuna(not spicy but a little to taste) and the mushrooms with sweet heavy taste of teriyaki are scumptious. Great for light meal. I have to say, based on many other reviews given, this go go ya is not a typical type of takeout fast food. I can get mexican tacos cheaper and I had paid high price for same mexican tacos. But a japanese nori tacos? Its an experience to see new ideas to be recreate from maki version of sushi, but better with added bits of flavorings. And you dont need chopsticks!! The comparable size of each Japanese tacos are larger than the mexican tacos large or small. I think the restaurant had chosen a good location to be part of an extraordinare European style food hall. Given Timeout Magazine great credentials to bring chef-inspired into food court dining!!

Jan 15, 2025 · RaghadAbdulellahAlaseeriGogo Ya has the most amazing bento bowls ever!!!! I have never had such a great bowl: not too salty, perfect amount of each ingredient, and everything had such a rich taste. The salmon was amazing. Pretty expensive prices but the bowl was definitely worth the $22.
Oct 21, 2023 · Anna Carolina WollmannSave your money. We’re visiting from Houston and were really excited about this place because it looked so good online. Huge let down. We got the nori tacos. The tuna wasn’t cubed. It was like smushed ground tuna. And tasted odd. We also got a sashimi bowl and the fish was mushy in that too. It was over salted. Overall a big disappointment. They did get it out quickly. I would’ve traded the timeliness for flavor though. Especially for $10 a taco.
