Japanese Ramen Gachi Reviews
I was craving ramen while in Houston and came across Gachi. I tried the Tanmen, which has a richer, spicier broth with pork. It had solid flavor, though I found the peanut taste a bit overpowering for my preference. My partner had the Shoyu ramen and thought it was great. The Karaage was very crispy and delicious. Sorry I don’t have more food pics—I got too hungry! The atmosphere was calm and cozy, making it a nice spot to enjoy a comforting meal.
April 21 · Chunneath KravanhThe tonkotsu gachi and tonkotsu spicy are my two favorite ramens at this restaurant. The broth has a very deep and rich pork flavor that is perfectly salty enough to drink on its own. Noodles have a very nice springy texture that’s very satisfying to bite into. And the pork slices taste very fresh and are extremely tender. The combination of the pork slices with the broth is fantastic.Update 5/10/25: Their sesame ice cream is also quite good. It’s served with some tea on the side.
May 10 · Vincent LiCame for dinner on weekday eveningWe ordered a ramen bowl each (~$15) and the pork chasu rice ($6) as an appetizer. The food was pretty tasty: tonkatsu ramen soup felt like actually brewed pork soup (instead of instant powder) and the shoyu ramen was refreshing with “QQ” bouncy noodles. The ramen portion sizes were smaller but $6 for a tiny serving of pork chasu rice was a ripoff.Service was friendly but slow. The owner and one other staff running the entire front of house were overwhelmed as they were also hosting and bussing tables while taking orders.Vibe is clean and cute with dim lights. It’s clear a lot of thought and planning went into designing the interior.
February 19 · Kevin WangSpicy tuna sushi, Tonkotsu original ramen, sesame seed ice cream. Amazing food. Great service and the atmosphere is laid back and chill. I recommend
April 12 · MargaritaDefinitely a great restaurant. The vibe is real good and chill. Every table has a cute candle on it. The fried oyster is very good. It's crunchy and the oyster is fresh. The ramen is okay thoWill come back again
