Kamisama Ramen

230 E 14th St, New York, NY 10003, USA

4.0
A little ramen shop on 14th, heaters and small wooden seats, a few manga books to read on your wait. The tonkotsu comes with options for cahshu or chicken, no/with garlic, and no/with pork fat. It's a good savory choice, hot and refreshing, yellow ramen noodles, add a soft-boiled egg for $2 which was seasoned well. The spicy jiro ramen with miso and konbu was disappointing. It'd be better as the tonkatsu broth. The chashu was good, would be better grilled or use a torch to render it a bit. The fried chicken was so-so, oil tasted too old. The tako wasabi was a healthy portion with seaweed and spicy - love the fresh wasabi mixed with fresh octopus.Overall, had better ramen. Service was winding down (we came in close to 2:15p, which is near their break between 3-5pish?), but they left a water carafe on the table and accepted card (they bring a machine to your table). - Hank Chang
