Manna Teriyaki

11064 Lake City Way NE, Seattle, WA 98125, USA

4.0
I come here frequently… today I ordered over the phone for pickup and asked for one eggroll and thought I made it clear since I said it twice . I get there and she gave me two , I gently said I only ordered one and the woman who was checking me out got very frustrated and even tried to argue with me about how many egg rolls I said I wanted.. I didn’t really mind the attitude because I thought maybe she had a long day. She begins to slam recipients down and snatching everything she needed to grab in order to give me my food… i never got treated like this anywhere ever .. it honestly made me want to cry . I loved coming here but if she’s working I’m no longer going to be giving this company business . - Puree Caramell

Manna Teriyaki Introduce

Manna Teriyaki, conveniently located at 11064 Lake City Way NE, Seattle, WA 98125, serves as a neighborhood Japanese restaurant catering to the local community. In the realm of a "Doctor Near Me" platform, while Manna Teriyaki does not offer medical services, it fulfills a different, yet vital, role in providing sustenance and comfort. For many, a quick, hot, and satisfying meal is a crucial part of daily well-being, especially after a long day or when seeking a convenient dining solution. Manna Teriyaki, by offering readily available and often well-regarded Japanese cuisine, provides a 'prescription' for hunger and convenience, much like other essential services that contribute to a healthy and functional community.

The environment at Manna Teriyaki is described as a "typical teriyaki joint - small and clean." This suggests a functional and unassuming space, prioritizing efficiency and quick service over an elaborate or upscale dining atmosphere. Patrons can expect a straightforward setup, likely with a counter for ordering and perhaps a few tables for dine-in customers, although the emphasis seems to be on takeout given the review about ordering "to go." The presence of "photos on the menu" is a helpful feature in such environments, allowing customers to easily visualize their meal options. Being situated on Lake City Way NE, a known thoroughfare, implies accessibility for both local residents and those passing through. While the ambiance itself might not be a major draw, the focus on cleanliness and practicality contributes to a comfortable and efficient experience for those looking for a quick meal.

The services at Manna Teriyaki present a mixed picture, with some aspects receiving praise while others draw significant criticism. On the positive side, the restaurant is noted for its speed, with one customer stating they "waited less than 10 mins" for their order. This quick turnaround is a significant advantage for those on a tight schedule. The ability to order "over the phone for pickup" also highlights a convenient service option. However, the most striking feedback regarding service pertains to a negative interpersonal experience. One customer detailed a highly frustrating encounter where a staff member, despite the customer "gently" correcting an order discrepancy, "got very frustrated and even tried to argue," "begins to slam recipients down and snatching everything she needed to grab." This specific incident of what the customer described as being "treated like this anywhere ever" and making them "want to cry" underscores a significant inconsistency in customer interaction. While this might be an isolated incident, it highlights a potential for a challenging service experience that could deter repeat business, despite previous positive experiences with the food.

Manna Teriyaki's features primarily revolve around its food offerings. A consistent highlight is the "large portion of katsu," indicating that customers receive a substantial amount of the main dish. The "katsu is crispy and flavorful!" which speaks to the quality of preparation for this particular item. The menu likely includes various teriyaki dishes, a staple for such establishments, alongside other Japanese-inspired comfort foods. The observation of "photos on the menu" is a common feature in teriyaki joints, assisting customers in their selection. However, a notable feature that impacts the overall value and customer satisfaction is the inconsistency in rice portioning, where the "rice portion is quite small" and "didn’t even fill the rice to the top of the box." This suggests that while the main protein portions are generous, the accompanying components might not be as consistent. The availability of egg rolls as a side item is also mentioned, although this was the point of a service dispute. The overall impression is that Manna Teriyaki offers flavorful and generously portioned main dishes, but customers might need to specifically request "extra rice" to balance their meal. The emphasis on individual orders, as seen in the phone order for an egg roll, points to a flexible menu where items can be customized.

Promotional information for Manna Teriyaki primarily comes from word-of-mouth, influenced by both its loyal customer base and those with less favorable experiences. The positive reviews, highlighting the "crispy and flavorful" katsu and large portions, act as organic promotions, drawing in new customers looking for satisfying Japanese food in the neighborhood. The statement "Normally I go to another teriyaki joint up on 15th but wanted to try Manna out since it’s in the neighborhood" implies that its convenient location on Lake City Way serves as a natural draw. However, the deeply negative service experience detailed by one customer, leading to a decision of "no longer going to be giving this company business," directly counteracts positive word-of-mouth. This highlights a significant challenge in consistent promotion, as the service quality can heavily impact customer retention regardless of food quality. While there isn't explicit mention of traditional marketing campaigns or discounts, the restaurant's reputation hinges on consistently delivering a good meal alongside a pleasant experience. For local users, Manna Teriyaki offers a convenient option for Japanese cuisine, but the varying experiences with service suggest that while it may provide a satisfying 'culinary prescription' some days, other visits might leave a bitter taste.
