Matsunori Introduce
In the vibrant and ever-evolving culinary landscape of the Lower East Side, Matsunori has established itself as a must-visit destination for sushi enthusiasts seeking a departure from the purely traditional. Located on Allen Street, this intimate eatery offers a creative approach to Japanese cuisine, blending classic techniques with innovative, fusion-inspired flavor combinations. Matsunori is not your typical sushi spot; it is a place where a dining experience becomes a journey, guided by skilled chefs who add their personal touch to each piece.
While Matsunori does offer a la carte options, its main draw and most celebrated offering is its omakase. The term "omakase" means "I'll leave it up to you," and at Matsunori, this trust is rewarded with a curated sequence of expertly prepared bites. The chefs showcase their knowledge and creativity by pairing fresh fish with unique sauces and ingredients, creating a symphony of flavors that is both surprising and delicious. This focus on a personal and artistic dining experience, combined with high-quality ingredients, is what makes Matsunori a true standout.
Matsunori is situated at 151 Allen St, New York, NY 10002, USA. Matsunori Reviews
I thought it was pretty good. It’s more of a creative omakase rather than traditional Japanese style so if you’re looking for something classic this might not be the place. But if you’re into fusion it’s definitely worth a visit. I remember the sushi chef who served us was from Taiwan and he was really friendly with great service. Five stars and I would come back next time I’m in New York.
May 12 · OliviaCame here with my partner and his friend and we had a great time here! My boyfriend and I had came here once over a year ago before they renovated, but this time was even better! Chef Steve is a really nice and friendly guy who is very knowledgeable in his field of work. I truly appreciated how each piece was simple yet very flavorful. The combination of fish with the sauces the chef used is amazing! I would come back again for sure!

April 12 · Whitney XuThe reopened Matsunori is truly incredible! They have an amazing michelin star chef who created an amazing menu with such unique pieces. My favorites were the fancy tuna poke bowl appetizer, the bagel and lox piece (king salmon with onion, cream cheese and tomato), the spicy sweet shrimp and the tuna with tofu sauce. The service was AMAZING and the chef, the owner and the hostess were all extremely nice. This dinner was amazing and I’ll def be back. $98 is also super affordable for the dinner you get!
