Promotions or Special Offers
While Musashi's PDX doesn't prominently advertise specific, rotating daily promotions or a traditional "happy hour" in the same way some establishments might, its core value proposition serves as an ongoing "special offer" for locals. The consistent feedback indicates that the restaurant provides "generous portions" of fresh sushi and rolls at excellent prices. As one delighted customer exclaimed, "Got 3 rolls and two starters and it only cost $36! What a treat." This inherent affordability for high-quality, fresh sushi is a significant draw, especially for the Portland market.
Additionally, Musashi's PDX participates in the "Too Good To Go" program. This allows them to offer "Surprise bags" of surplus food at a significantly reduced price (e.g., a $10 meal for $3.29) to prevent food waste. While the contents of these bags are, by nature, a surprise, this program can be an excellent way for budget-conscious locals to enjoy a variety of their dishes at a steep discount, making it a sustainable and wallet-friendly option. For the most up-to-date information on any potential new offerings or special bundles (such as their sushi nigiri bundles, which often include a drink), it's always recommended to check their official online ordering platforms or call Musashi's PDX directly at (503) 805-0958.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
Musashi's PDX is perfectly suited for locals in Oregon, particularly the discerning diners of Portland, for a confluence of reasons that speak directly to what the community values in its eateries.
Firstly, the resurgence in quality under new ownership is a huge win for the community. Portlanders appreciate businesses that genuinely strive for excellence and listen to their patrons. The fact that Musashi's has overcome past "downs" and is now delivering "amazing" quality with "fresh" sushi and high-standard entrees means that long-time fans can confidently return, and new customers can discover a reliable and impressive sushi spot. This commitment to improvement makes it a resilient and admirable local business.
Secondly, the combination of freshness, generous portions, and excellent value is a powerful magnet for locals. In a city where dining out can sometimes be pricey, finding a place where "the rolls were very good and so fresh" and a meal of "3 rolls and two starters only cost $36!" is a "treat" that encourages frequent visits. This affordability without sacrificing quality makes Musashi's an accessible option for regular sushi cravings, whether for a casual dinner, a post-show bite, or a satisfying weeknight meal.
Furthermore, the friendly service and inviting atmosphere contribute significantly to its local appeal. A warm welcome and attentive staff create a comfortable dining experience that fosters loyalty. The subtle touches, like the "free barley tea," enhance the overall feeling of being cared for, which is highly valued in community-centric Portland. The convenience of its SE Belmont location, coupled with later operating hours, means it fits seamlessly into various local lifestyles, from those looking for a quick, delicious dinner to those seeking a quality late-night meal.
Finally, Musashi's PDX offers a compelling balance of familiar comfort and renewed excellence. It’s a place where you can become "a regular again" because you know you're getting consistently good food and service at a great price. For all these reasons, Musashi's PDX stands out as a prime destination for Portlanders seeking a top-notch yet approachable sushi experience.

Musashi’s PDX Reviews
This place has definitely had it's ups and downs. It was excellent 5 years ago, then went slowly downhill with several changes in ownership. Happy to say that the new owner is doing an amazing job - there is the same basic menu, but the quality of the entrees is back up to the previous high standards. The sushi is fresh and the nigiri and rolls have generous portions. Service is friendly and the free barley tea is a nice touch,. I've become a regular again.
May 17, 2025 · Charles PitkofskyThis place is amazing! Stopped in for a late night meal after a show. Got 3 rolls and two starters and it only cost $36! What a treat. The rolls were very good and so fresh, too. Wonderful, we’ll definitely be back.
Feb 12, 2024 · Mae DThe sushi was okay, but the portion size was fantastic for the price. I was particularly fond of the tuna roll I had, it included green onion which was a great touch. The barley tea was also delightful. Atmosphere was good, and the staff was fantastic. My partner would likely go regularly if we lived in the neighborhood.
May 16, 2024 · Mahala WillardGreat food and great service. Although I wish there were a little more options, the available options are all executed superbly and I was not disappointed by a single dish. Highly recommend any of the fresh nigiri and the hamachi kama.
Mar 08, 2025 · grey skyedVery friendly staff and great sushi! The salmon nigiri was so tasty. We got rolls too and they were just delicious. Price is very reasonable as well. They are doing indoor dining. Will definitely come back!
