Piranha Izakaya Reviews
Stopped here for happy hour. Welcomed in and immediately seated. The place has a nice vibe, and our server was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. We got the yuzu salad, samurai ribs, pig ears (don't judge 'em til you try 'em), and karaage chicken. Also, we got the lychee martini and the spicy pear martini, both were delicious! It's you like sweet heat like me, you'll love the pear martini! The pear flavor tasted natural and not overly sweet. Not pictured is the cucumber cooler, they make their own infused spirits. The cooler was refreshing and delicious! Everything tasted good and I'm looking forward to my next visit.
May 25, 2025 · Michael MurphySushi was okay with some unique flavors, many of them I would order again. Much sweeter rolls than I was expecting. The fish portions were fair for the price but taste like the fish had been frozen for some time. We did not get the chance to try any of the hot food here. It looked like Hot foods and the ramen was the specialty for the restaurant. The service was poor and was very slow for lunch during a weekday. We did not get refills on water or our drinks. Very nicely decorated restaurant, with a beautiful mural.
Apr 22, 2025 · Victoria Van CampMy server was Jax, he was neither good or bad. Although he did smile, the actions of good service did not prosper. Our platting was not taken away when we were done, we had to ask for water. He wasn’t bad, nor good—hit the baseline average for customer service—5.5/10. We sat outside, it was decent although some trash on the floor indicating a management issue (also overflowing hand towel trashcan in the restroom). Upon walking in some of the servers coming in looked like they just woke up, one of them smoking on a weed pen which I’m pro weed but hey, discretely.Overall most of this I’m sure stems from management, needs to set boundaries and make their workers want to work there either through increased pay or positive reinforcement.Positive was the food, was delicious as always. Doesn’t change much, I guess if it ain’t broke don’t fix it but for smaller eaters it’s a tough eat—maybe a more elaborate sampler plate would be of benefit for that I brought it down a star but fantastic taste. I’d come here with a friend on a random day out but probably shouldn’t had brought my mom here for Mother’s Day (she wanted Japanese and is not a huge eater, but a picker of an eater).
May 11, 2025 · Rudy GalanI often come by myself, but I love this place. Any time I have the opportunity to bring a friend or brag about it, I do! The tonkotsu ramen is my favorite because the pork belly has a great flavor, and the broth always makes my stomach feel better.
Apr 24, 2025 · Mercedes VillalobosHigh hopes dashed!Filled the table with small plates...Takoyaki (Octopus Fritters) were like a savory creamed filling very disappointingShashio peppers were fine. Nothing especially fun.Bone marrow crab - crab was a little fishy and a little too much fatty morrow for me. But the crab with the buttered bread was a decent bite. Maybe if the bread was grilled with salt and pepper?Kaarage (fried chicken bites) super dry and even with the spicy mayo wasn't worth finishingSamurai Rib - the lone standout. Moist, meaty, enjoyed the Japanese sauce coating!Ginger beef - dry and not worth finishing. Sweet potato "fries" were just tempura breaded sweet potato.Service - server was nice but spent much of his time talking to his coworkers long after our table was cleared and drinks were empty.
