RA Sushi Bar Restaurant Reviews
Visiting AZ from the Bay Area for my boyfriend’s birthday this past Memorial Day weekend and while we waited for our movie to start at the theater next door we stumbled upon this little gem of a sushi bar. Kalayo was our bar tender and he was AMAZING! Super sweet and personable, had good conversation and even gave us a few good laughs. Food and drinks were really good. Would definitely come here again!
May 31, 2025 · mykalah gilkeyAtmosphere was decent, during this time frame of 6:25pm-7:05pm on Monday April 14th.Music was well enough. It blocked out the groupOf guys that were loud to the left of sushi bar in corner (good job host for placement of that lively bunch)Food was ok: i expected a prettier looking sushi dish. But it is what it was.Now to service:Bradley was my server tonight.I decided to sit at the sushi bar because it’s out of the way when it’s not busy, it was only me.Sitting at a sushi bar allows 1-2 ppl to either self enjoy themselves or the solo person to enjoy their own company.I treated myself to a self care little sushi before the movies tonight. From within the first few minutes of Brady greeting me, he wasn’t caring enough to be engaging. Now i get and understand that ppl in the food industry have tough days, moments and at times personal life and trickle into work. (This can be said for many of us in any field or career or dead end job. However in this case; it was just Bradley that didn’t want to be that “decent of a person and be a server”During the short window of 30 mins and interactions with him. It was less than wanting. I was handed a menu when i asked to sit at bar.I had my choice ready for when the server would come. He arrived and i was looking forward to a quirky joke or humor (typical waiter banter)He seem displeased with the day. Energy can be felt. As i was placing my order with him, he did attempt to detour me away from my choice due to how long it would take he said. and i said no. I want that.He wasn’t happy with that. He asked to get me a drink, i asked for water with a cup of lemons and sweet and low. I had to ask twice for it. (He handed me a single lemon but 10 packets of sweet and low; i handed the extra ones back. I only needed two)The pity and lack of caring energy was not obvious. When i went to ask a couple follow up questions, i was ignored and went to other tables. You could tell that he just didn’t care to serve me. I felt less than wanted and appreciated here. By a single person. To be written off as if i didn’t matter enough to be bothered by you.Food came about 6:37pm and i had to ask for wasbi, ginger and soy sauce) usually that is just given or asked before (this is asked just to conserve waste aka P&L in a restaurant)When he followed up with me at 6:51pm and asked if i needed anything else, i was busy watching a show on my phone and head phones in.I took them out to respond to him, and i did apologize Ans say: i didn’t hear what he asked me. He followed up to see if i needed anything else, i said no, but i would like the check, he handed it to me.But he didn’t care to stay as i was ready to pay. He came back and just dropped the pay device off and said here.He just didn’t care at all.I waited after i paid to speak with a manager; i grabbed the attention from a female server to get the manager.Eric was the manager. We spoke and i explained the situation at hand and how a single person made it clear that time, money and overall experience was just less than welcoming and wanted. He was aware of this situation and how i would be handling it.He asked for my business again. But why would i come back if i was made to feel unwelcome and don’t feel comfortable. No thank you from me.Eric did accommodate the meal. It was his way of asking for me to come back and dine again. But i still said no.I’m foodie and i enjoy food. Yet again this was a treating myself night. But service can ruin that.
Apr 15, 2025 · Archer Bradley TurnerHad a great lunch today, the food was well prepared and delicious. The Chicken Terikaki and Rainbow Rolls were perfect at RA in Ahwatukee. They also have an outdoor patio. This location is fantastic for catching a movie and some sushi (or sushi and movie).
Jan 29, 2025 · andrew hayesI must admit when Anna first came to my table & introduced herself, I felt very welcomed and she made me feel like family. She had a great sense of humor. When she laughed, she snorted. She even made a funny face and cracked a joke. She was very knowledgeable of the menu. She answered all my questions with great detail. This was my second time visiting Ra, I'll definitely be back. The food was great and the cocktail was on point. Kudos to Anna for being a great server!
Apr 15, 2025 · Jose MunozI had such a great experience at RA Sushi in Phoenix! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was lively and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious — every roll was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What really made the night special, though, was our server, Krystal. She was truly amazing — super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests having a great time. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I’ll be asking for Krystal again! :)))))
