April 19 · Soleye OnasanyaMy honest opinion. My friend and I decided to go here for dessert. The menu felt overwhelming and took time for us to find something to order. Just for it to be mostly drinks and a very small menu. The scallops and salmon were delicious but limited to maybe sundays. The beef sukiyaki was delicious. The chicken meatball felt mushy.The item i would say don't get is the onigiri. It was delicious on the outside, but the inside was just mushed up rice that looked like leftovers. I couldn't finish it because it was that bad. Also, DON'T GET THE ALMOND BUTTER MISO SOUP. Someone in the kitchen got too creative, and that soup was nasty with a capital T.Overall, it is a beautiful restaurant and excellent service. I felt stuffed after the visit. It is better suited for people who love to drink and have small snacks. Also, pricing for food is a bit questionable, but hey, if u got the money, spend it
March 31 · Yewande DawoduHad a dinner date last night at this spot that has been on my never-ending list of places I want to go. It did not disappoint. The cocktails are inventive and delicious. This is a great place to order a bunch of stuff and share, because of the level quality each dish has. It also has a beautiful and trendy atmosphere. I can see why many people have their wedding there. Make a reservation, it does get busy. Highly recommend!
March 23 · Samantha “Sam” Santiago-GionetA popular brunch spot in Williamsburg and finally paid a visit. The restaurant itself was well designed, airy, spaced well with lots of wood elements, and noise level also pretty good, you can have a normal conversation. The food was decent. Highlights were the sandos, and only the sandos. Both the pork and fish were great. The fried pork cutlets were very crispy and the pork inside was very juicy. The fish one was also great, and we loved the scallion sauce for it. I would recommend just getting their sandos. The rice bowls were alright, we got both the beef and the curry and they were okay, nothing special. We of course had to get the famous pancake, but honestly it’s mediocre. It’s thicker and more fluffy but also a bit dry. We got the black sesame ice cream to go with it and the ice cream was too sweet in my opinion. We also had an unpleasant experience with check-in. We arrived on time and were made to wait, and when we were told our table was ready, were taken to one of the outdoor tables when I booked indoor. When I told the host that I booked indoor tables, the male host was unprofessional, tried to gaslight me by saying that I “prefer indoor table”, and I told him it’s not a preference, it’s what I booked. We got an indoor table in the end but the hassle was a letdown. But our actual server, Sam, was helpful and friendly. Overall, recommend trying their sandos.
May 27 · Kyle LiuWas trying to come here for years to have their hottokeki pancakes. I was finally able to get a reservation for brunch. I must say it did not disappoint at all. The pancakes were fluffy moist not too sweet and all around wonderful to enjoy. The size of a pancake it definitely feed a few people. Also got their kankuri donburi bowl. The pork was tender and moist. I would definitely come back here again for brunch.
