Sakura Chaya Clovis Reviews
What just happened!! I took my son here for his birthday and our Chef didn't even acknowledge his birthday and the chef behind him started singing happy birthday to his crowd and my son's eyes got watery and he said Dad they didn't sing Happy Birthday to me. Then as we were leaving they acknowledge there mistake by giving us a piece of ice cream that was melted in addition I have never seen so much oil poured onto fried rice in my life Yuke, barely any butter all oil and the food had almost no flavor. This is a first for me here I usually enjoy this place. Again what just happened here? Seriously, I want my $200 back
Apr 24, 2025 · MrC StephensEnjoyed a nice lunch and sat in a spacious booth. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. I had the Mallory roll and never had it prepared this beautifully before. It was fresh and delicious. Bacon fried rice was just as good at traditional dinning as it is at the grill. Large portions all around. This place is consistent with their quality and service. Never a bad meal.
Jan 21, 2024 · Tina P.I’ve been going here for years, even before they opened this new location, and never before have I been treated this badly. Not only did I have to wait 15 minutes after my food was cooked to eat because my waiter did not refill my drink after the appetizers were served, even though me and four other people at my table asked for a refill, and I had to ask a different waiter for a refill just to get one, but when paying for my meal, the waiter took my 100 dollar bill and broke it into smaller money, (20s,10s, and 1s) and instead of taking the money out for my meal, which is customary and expected because I handed it to him for him to pay, he handed the whole amount back. I had not counted it once more nor noticed because I’ve been going to Sakura Chaya for years and never had an issue. When I left the restaurant, the manager and that waiter chased me into the parking lot, and I handed them the amount needed for the meal. The waiter, instead of apologizing for bad service or his mistake, made a snide comment about me only tipping 4$, even though tipping is not necessary and I only tipped to be polite. That waiter was not only rude, disrespectful, and failed to do his job correctly, but also had the nerve to make a comment about me only tipping him that much. I don’t plan to come back here again. That was not only embarrassing but an appalling treatment, especially towards someone who’s been a customer for years. The food tasted good, the chef was nice, but the waiter ruined my whole experience.
May 25, 2025 · MikaynuNot sure about the teppanyaki side, but the sushi side isn’t that great. The rainbow roll had old looking avocado, the tempura shrimp inside was not crunchy, and it did not taste fresh. You know that feeling when you bite into a fried item and it’s old so you dont have that give when you bite it? The california roll was decent, the yo mama roll was overwhelmingly salty, less sauce would be okay. And side note the side order of rice is a huge serving. The service was very good though, very nice and attentive.
Mar 05, 2024 · Jay WuI ordered dinner from Sakura Chaya in Clovis on my way home. When I picked up the order, I asked the cashier if there was ugnagi sauce in the bag or if I had to order one separately. She advised that there is one in the bag. I went home, and I was shocked to find no sauce in the container. I ate 2 pieces but it didn't enjoy it. I called the restaurant and explained to them what had happened. I advised that I was discarding the sushi roll and asked if they could remedy the situation for me. The manager Liana shared that it should have been in the bag and that the sushi chef made an error. She shared she could put me down for a free sauce for my next visit but couldn't refund the roll. So I waisted my time, money, and appetite.
