Stonie Bowls Reviews
The chicken salad with hard boiled egg tasted good. But the amount was quite less for the price. It only served once. But the taste was good. Recommend this place if money if 20 usd for one serving is not an issue for you.
Aug 01, 2024 · sayak chakrabartyThere is no counter for this. You need to order through one of the kiosks and then pick up at the pickup counter in the back. I saw reviews that it was a bit salty and while I can taste some salt I don't think it's very salty. The fish is fresh and doesn't taste fishy. The bowls are overall good and compared to some of the other places in citizens it has a good portion. Definitely will order again.
Sep 02, 2022 · JoelI am a long time fan of Matt Stonie and found out about Stonie Bowls through one of his recently uploaded YouTube videos. I never would have set foot into the CITIZENS Manhattan Building before since it only looked like an office space from the exterior. It should be noted that Stonie Bowls does not have a stand-alone counter where one can order from. To do so, you would need to walk to the kiosk station, scroll through a list of restaurants, select Stonie Bowls, and select or build an order. After adding items to your virtual cart on the kiosk, input your name for receipt and pick-up purposes. When your order is ready it will be packaged in a paper bag with a receipt attached and placed onto the table/shelving near the beverage area on the same floor level.I ordered the Spicy Tuna which is one of the Signature Bowls offered. There is a choice of white rice or mixed greens. I chose mixed greens topped with spicy tuna, ponzu onions, cucumber, chose to have extra daikon radish, chose to have extra carrots, green onions, avocado, edamame, serrano chilies, chose to have extra cilantro, Togarashi spice, sesame seeds and Onion Ponzu sauce (32oz).I think my order was topped with the Miso Vinegar sauce by accident but I did not want to fuss over about it since I came hungry. The sauce was salty and the veggies in my bowl helped dilute the sodium as much as they could have. Although for future improvements, the main bowl sauce should be packed on the side in a 2oz cup for customers to add to their own liking.I appreciated the amount of food packed into the bowl. All the vegetables and greens were crisp and fresh. The quality of tuna was not bad either. However, the cubes/chunks of tuna pictured on the bowl on the website are more like small shreds or pieces in person so consistency of quality can be managed a little more.Overall, I enjoyed the experience with friends and plan on ordering again after visiting NYCC 2022 in the following month as well as for no-hassle dinners after work in the future.Update: My friends ordered one Salmon Bowl and one Spicy Tuna Bowl after attending NYCC 2022. They noted that the bowls were seasoned well even without ordering the Miso Vinegar Sauce which usually comes with the set. However, extra cilantro let alone any cilantro was missing from the Salmon Bowl. Also, the small one ounce cups of pickled ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce were missing from the orders so we are not sure if Stonie Bowls stopped packing those items. We did not want to bother management with our missing items so we just sat down and ate together. After some time, my friends did not feel 100% in the stomach region so I question the quality and origin of fish used.
Oct 09, 2022 · Erin LyI came on a rush because I saw they opened at 11. When I arrived (at 11:01) the cashier told me they were not ready, I ask her at what do they open, and she just told me to come back latter. They should be respectful with the clients time. I went to another place.
Mar 18, 2024 · Ana SVi ordered the salmon bowl. my bowl barealy had any salmon, literally half of a spoon and cut really really small so it was just a bite of salmon. the rice was hard and old, avocado was black, and literally zero flavor!!! they made no effort to make their poke bowls good. i eat poke bowls 3-5 times a week and this is the worst i've ever had!! would not recommend this place to anyone!!! stay away!!!
