Sushi Hiro Reviews
My boyfriend and I frequent here almost monthly as they are one of the only places that is open late and have easy to access parking. We love the Galaxy 999 roll and always order it each time we visit! It's just that good and honestly nothing you will find elsewhere. This place has changed in the last few months offering different types of complimentary appetizers and we really enjoyed the cucumber kimchi and peanuts for our most recent visit.I saw that they had happy hour which is relatively new and we wanted to try some more of their offerings, especially since we're usually up late anyways. Now, I noticed that on Yelp, it states that they allow dogs and I figured why not confirm as sometimes Yelp states that some businesses allow dogs but turns out that's not always the case so not sure who or if Yelp decides if a business allows dogs. I asked our waitress after getting settled into a booth in the furthest right corner if they do allow dogs and she told me that she would ask the manager. She returns with the manager, who tells us that dogs are allowed and we told them that we could seat ourselves somewhere further away from other patrons as to not disrupt their meals as I know a lot of people don't like to eat around dogs. Our waitress helped us move to their secluded bar area where there was only one other table occupied and they had two karaoke stations it seemed. After we moved, I went to go get my two Jindo mixes from the car as one of them has severe separation anxiety and currently going through a heartworm treatment so his heart rate needs to be relaxed, thus I would prefer to have him with us when we can. As I brought in our dogs, the manager and staff members were extremely kind and welcoming to them. They would give them pets and compliments and ask questions to know more about them. This was probably the most welcoming our fur babies have had and we take them to malls, patios, and dog events (came from one the same day we visited Sushi Hiro) and this was still one of the most welcoming experiences! The staff here are truly personable and friendly, they feel like long time lost friends hosting a good time with food and drinks! Each staff member we interacted with was super friendly and made our dining experience super memorable. They even bid our fur babies farewell when we were finished with our meal and heading to check out. After the warm reception, our dogs went under the table and were very calm. We got to order from the happy hour: California rolls, takoyaki, 2 orders of chicken wings, bacon wrapped shrimp, seared salmon nigiri, and albacore tuna nigiri. We also ordered our usual Galaxy 999 roll too! Everything arrived within a good amount of time and it was perfect temperature to just start digging as we were starving. The fried chicken was our favorite as the base seasoning on the chicken was so good that it can be eaten plain. However, the creamy onion sauce adds a refreshing but fantastic flavor! Additionally, I got their volcano habanero and wow, this had to be one of the spiciest sauces in Federal Way as they brought the heat. I struggled to finish it all and I'm the type of person to use lots of sauce but it was a great type of spicy! The California roll was packed with crab meat and the rolls were huge! The takoyaki was delicious always and we really enjoyed the bacon wrapped shrimp! We enjoyed our nigiri, appreciating the cut and size. The ambiance here is really nice and it's perfect for date nights, parties, or even company meet ups. The bathrooms here are clean and well-maintained. We love the K-pop that plays here as it isn't too loud and it fits the vibe of the establishment well. They have plenty of seating at tables or bar seating to accommodate all party sizes or solo diners. We are glad that Sushi Hiro has been around as long as they have and hope they continue to thrive as we are happy returning customers. Knowing that they are also dog friendly too, it'll be nice to come during the summer so we can avoid having them in the car in the hot weather.
May 18, 2025 · Pearl LeeGreat place. Both times I've been here was late night (10pm or later) the food was excellent! Late night happy hour was a good deal as well. Fish is fresh, staff is friendly. The gentleman who was our server recognized me from about 6 months ago and we chatted a bit. Pretty cool!
Apr 23, 2025 · David FrostStopped in for a late night date and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, the atmosphere, and the price at Sushi Hiro! Perfect for a casual date or dinner with friends, and the fact that they're one of the only sushi restaurants open late is a huge plus.
Mar 02, 2025 · Jordan GamacheSushi Hiro in Federal Way has become one of our go-to spots after church, and for good reason! If you’re looking for quality sushi at a great price, go during happy hour—you can get 2 special rolls for $25 or regular rolls for $18, which is an amazing deal. This time, we got the Simba Roll and the Manhattan Sunrise Roll, and if you love salmon, you need to try both!• Simba Roll – Krab salad, avocado, baked with chopped shrimp tempura.• Manhattan Sunrise Roll – Salmon, avocado, cucumber, topped with more salmon, yellowtail, and seared shrimp. Both rolls were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. We also got edamame as a side and were pleasantly surprised with complimentary peanuts, miso soup, and tea—a great touch that made the experience even better. If you’re looking for delicious sushi, great portions, and solid deals, Sushi Hiro is a must-visit. Highly recommend!
