Mar 02, 2025 · Johnny KimI visited Sushi Takeda for lunch omakase right when it opened and the restaurant was packed in no time. Definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. The unassuming exterior is in sharp contrast with the Japanese inspired interior. My lunch omakase included-1. Sesame Tofu with wasabi and dashi sauce2. Red snapper with yuzu, lemon and cherry blossom leaves - it was a little chewy but had fresh citrusy flavor3. Dry aged bluefin tuna - this one was really good.4. Spanish mackerel - alright5. Trout - quite good6. Young bluefin tuna - personal favorite, smoky and salty7. Fried white fish marinated in vinegar (palette cleanser)8. Chawanmushi with mashed oyster, seaweed9. Golden eye snapper10. Chu toro - medium fatty tuna11. Amberjack12. Miso soup13. Jumbo scallop14. Belt fish15. Hokkaido uni with dashi marinade16. Tamago maki17. Refresher- housemade yuzu sodaOverall, it is a good price for all that you get. They don't use as much garnish on their nigiri which really puts the focus on the fish. The fish was fresh but some nigiri pieces didn't quite hit the mark. The service was fast and attentive. Sushi Takeda is a decent option for a reasonably priced lunch omakase if you are in the LA area.
Apr 11, 2025 · ayush kalaniSurprisingly, this is the BEST sushi bar tasting I have ever had outside of Tokyo. If you like to judge sushi based on the quality of the fish, then add Sushi Takeda to the top of your list. Every course featured extremely high quality seasonal fish. Each piece was the best version of that animal I had ever had, especially the King Mackerel and the unique sardine sushi. You won’t find a random wagyu course or gold leafing here; the flavors are balanced and the natural fats and oils are never overpowered by heavy garnish. Some places in LA charge three times the price and it’s not always a perfect homeroom. Make an omakase reservation at the bar NOW! You won’t regret it!
Feb 21, 2025 · Odette DelacroixIntimate setting, very nice atmosphere, tucked away in the third floor of Weller court. Traditional Edo style sushi exquisitely made without too much ostentatiousness (not overflowing with truffles, gold, and fois gras). Still inventive within the limits of the more traditional style, utterly delicious, and honestly a steal at the price.
Jan 25, 2025 · Samuel KimOne of the most incredible meals I've ever had. I've never been to Japan, but I felt transported. Impeccable service, attention to detail, and so much intention. Masters at their craft. We had the top tier omakase and the courses flowed like the prettiest ballad you've ever heard.Add this to your bucket list, not because you have money and can buy most anything, but because money alone cannot make this experience.
