Suzuki Shokudo Reviews
Good sushi and ramen place in the area! Would go back. Good food, service, and location. We went on a weekday evening around 6:30 and there were plenty of tables open. Service was attentive to order and refill waters throughout our visit.I liked how they had sets for various menu options. This allowed us to sample few things as it was our first time.Being a regular sushi eater, one surprising thing was that their rolls are huge! I couldn’t eat them in one bite. They were good but they didn’t taste the freshest. For us this was okay but if you’re looking for freshest, more classic sushi experience this may surprise you a bit.Ramen was filled with veggies and enough noodles. Surprisingly good portion sizes for the price!
May 09, 2025 · Iun ChenThis place is a diamond in the rough. I did not give this place a chance until a friend mentioned it and I had been there twice so far for dinner. The food is delicious and the prices are great in this neighborhood. I did not expect authentic Japanese cuisine to be in the area. The best thing of all, they have uni and negi toro! Those are so rare to find in many Japanese restaurants. The staff are super friendly as well and they take care of the food. My partner has a shellfish allergy and was averse to anything sushi because of possible contamination but that has changed so it's a win for me! It isn't a huge place (seats maybe 30-40) so calling in for a reservation is definitely recommended or heading there early so there is not much of a wait time. I definitely cannot wait to try out their whole menu.
Apr 05, 2025 · Helen CheungVery authentic Japanese restaurant. The minute you walk in it’s like you’re transported to 70s? 80s? Japan. I got the sushi and sashimi set, and every slice of fish was fresh and tasty. It felt like I was back in Japan again. My sister had the Chirashi don, which was also amazing. The salad comes with a carrot onion sesame dressing that I absolutely loved when I was back in Japan but haven’t been able to find here in New York. Overall, highly recommended authentic Japanese restaurant. One warning though: portions are Japanese sized too, so don’t feel guilty ordering sides!
Mar 27, 2025 · Fang-Ting LeeNew fave local spot! 🔥 Ramen broth is super clean, and the ramen & sushi combo is a total steal. Shishito grill? Fire.Fried matcha ice cream? Chef’s kiss. 🤌Love that I found a go-to place! The vibe is straight-up local hidden gem. If you’re into light ramen broth, this one’s a must-try! 🍜💯
Feb 20, 2025 · Eunjoo Kim (Ej)Suzuki shokudo is such a gem. It is legit tucked away in LIC, so it doesn’t look like much from the outside but wow. the food was unreal. the chef and staff are all japanese and you can really feel the care they put into everything. the spicy tuna was hands down one of the best i’ve had in the city. perfectly seasoned, not overly mayo-y like a lot of places. every piece of sashimi was buttery and fresh, no weird fishy smell, just super clean flavors. even the rice was perfect. service was kind and thoughtful, they refilled our tea before we even noticed it was low. already thinking about when i can go back🥹🩷
