Tsuru Ton Tan - Union Square Reviews
I rarely really like a place but this is one of them. Mostly because my wife and I just loved the staff. Quick and efficient. Great location great food. The sushi rolls specifically are 10/10. This is one of those places you can recommend anyone who visits NYC
May 07, 2025 · Artyom ArtyBeen here many times. Food is always great! The uni mentaiko udon is a must-try. Friendly service and clean, cozy space. Highly recommend!
May 18, 2025 · R LI came in high school and I remember it being much better but the wagyu truffle ramen was mediocre, it came luke warm but I saw other peoples dishes and they were steaming? I also did see another comment about the truffle ramen being cold so this must be a common issue. The seating is so awkward and they had particles in the tap water. I think it’s an average city restaurant experience but I personally go to a restaurant to enjoy a nice ambiance and good food and this just wasn’t it for me.
Apr 02, 2025 · Ruth ShinAfter eating here about a half a dozen times, I think it’s time to finally leave a review. I’m not someone who ever really craves Ramen or soup in general. But, this place seems to have my brain wired in a different way. There is something so appealing to me about the easy access to such deep and rich flavors of their broths that keeps me coming back. When you see the waiter coming around with the massive bowls of broth and noodles, you just know you are in for a good meal. The slightly spicy and nutty Tan Tan will snap your palate into another dimension which is in stark contrast to the lighter and sweeter miso based broths. As of late, I have also been really into rice bowls and can vouch that the beef, eel, and salmon ikura bowls paired with a combo udon are some of the best value meals in the city.
May 22, 2025 · BenLatest review:If you notice the current picture, I took during a lunchtime visit. The otoro is definitely not as fresh or the same as it was a year ago. Hence, the star decreases. The udon is probably the only still yummy item worth eating there. Sushi, on the other hand, there's plenty of location with fresher options.Over a year ago, during restaurant week, the overall rating was 4 stars:$80 restuarant week's premium ayce was really good and filling! The service was a bit slow, but we were given extra time so that is a plus. We didn't get the huge bowls of udon to be able to try more of a variety but those bowls are definitely HUGE! I love uni and o toro (the o toro can be fattier but the quality is good enough for the price we were given.)
