Uminoya Sushi & Hibachi Restaurant Reviews
The food was excellent and the vibe was good. Our original waitress was fine, but at 8:40 as we finished dinner, the staff began to rush us because they closed at 9. A second waitress came over ready to give us our bill as we were finishing dinner, at which point I stated that we may be interested in some quick dessert, and asked for a menu. She sighed loudly, said "oh" and walked away - and did not bring us a menu. Then our original waitress returned and asked if we were done, and I repeated our interest in dessert to her - only to get another loud sigh as she walked away. She did bring a menu, and I was willing to let this all go - until the second waitress returned thereafter to take our dessert order but led with "you need to hurry because we close at 9." At this point, it was not even 8:50. I told her we didn't appreciate being rushed. At the same time, we heard them doing the same to another table, who, as they began to get up and leave, said, "I guess we're done!" Then as soon as the second waitress dropped the desserts and check at the same time, an older woman came over with the mobile payment device and asked us to pay now since they were closing soon. All this before their actual closing time of 9pm. I've never been so rudely rushed out of a restaurant before... felt weird. I'd still go back because the food was very good, but the customer service was lacking. No restaurant should expect to close and lock their doors at exactly their closing time - that's not how the industry works.
Apr 18, 2025 · Matt LReally good sushi place. We had chicken Wuhan and Mei Fun, sooo good. They are very quick to bring your food and even though the place was packed we were seated in no time. Also we were surprised how inexpensive our bill was. It’s not a fancy place but the food is really good.
Mar 08, 2025 · Grace PerezGreat prices for the quality of food you get. It's a step up from typical take out sushi yet still cheaper. Lots of good rolls and the service is good if you dine in.
Apr 13, 2025 · Logan KramerOMG, my son treated me to Sushi here, and I have a new favorite place to go! The place is located in a strip mall, it was not what we set out for today but we both fell in love with the place. The staff was very patient with us as we purused the menu and made EXCELENT recommendations. Presentation was GREAT!
Sep 16, 2024 · NimbySepWe ordered dinner.. keyword dinner.. The item on the menu is called the" new style" sashimi. When it first arrived I thought they messed up the order. It is literally five slither slices of fish with a horrible sauce on top which does not even pair with the sashimi. Another huge problem was I don't know if the sauce that was placed on top was hot because it cooked the salmon which is supposed to be raw hence sashimi. Lastly why are you putting sauce on top of my sashimi. It should just be plain raw fish.I took a picture of this disaster. You can see the extremely thin slice of sashimi. You can also see the gray piece of salmon.. last time I checked salmon was orange. This item also cost $14. I could go to ShopRite and get a big piece of fish for that or order this from another local sushi place and get triple. This is literally the worst sushi we have ever gotten from anywhere. Never again am I ordering from this overpriced place.I took pictures as proof you can see the gray salmon, the thin slice and the extremely small portion. I just worked 16 hours today and thank you for ruining my day. I literally had to spend more money and ordered Ikko because I was craving sushi.
