Yazawa Japanese BBQ distinguishes itself through several remarkable features that elevate it beyond a typical barbecue restaurant:
- Exceptional A5 Wagyu: The undisputed star of Yazawa is its A5 Wagyu beef. Sourced with meticulous care, this top-grade Japanese beef is renowned for its intense marbling, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, and rich, buttery flavor. Customers consistently rave about the superb quality of the Wagyu, describing it as "incredible" and "superb, grilled to perfection."
- Omakase Options: For the ultimate culinary adventure, Yazawa offers various omakase (chef's selection) Wagyu sets. These curated menus allow diners to sample a diverse range of premium cuts, providing a comprehensive and unforgettable tasting experience. Even the "cheapest omakase option" is noted for serving a generous amount of meat.
- Personalized Grilling Experience: Each table is equipped with a high-quality grill, allowing diners to cook their meat exactly to their preference. This interactive element adds a unique and engaging dimension to the meal.
- Gracious Server Assistance: A significant highlight is the attentive and skilled service, where servers are happy to cook the meat for guests. This ensures that the delicate Wagyu is prepared perfectly, often accompanied by a "good show" as they grill. This level of service enhances the overall dining pleasure, especially for those unfamiliar with grilling such premium cuts.
- Luxurious Ambiance: The restaurant offers an upscale and intimate setting, making it ideal for romantic dinners, anniversary celebrations, and other special occasions. The sophisticated decor complements the high-quality dining experience.
- Diverse Menu Beyond Wagyu: While Wagyu is the main attraction, Yazawa also offers other high-quality cuts like Kalbi (short ribs), Harami (skirt steak), and appetizers such as garlic rice and udon. While some side dishes like the ox tail soup have received mixed reviews regarding portion and flavor, the focus remains strongly on the meat.

Given the premium and luxury positioning of Yazawa Japanese BBQ, ongoing, publicly advertised promotions in the traditional sense (e.g., daily specials or happy hour discounts) are less common compared to more casual dining establishments. However, their pricing structure for omakase menus can be seen as a bundled offering that provides a comprehensive tasting experience. For instance, customers often highlight that even their "cheapest omakase option" provides a substantial amount of high-quality meat, indicating a value proposition within their premium tier.
For special occasions like anniversaries or birthdays, as noted by customer reviews, the restaurant focuses on delivering an exceptional dining experience rather than offering specific discounts. It's always advisable for patrons interested in any potential seasonal menus, limited-time offerings, or special arrangements for celebrations to inquire directly with the restaurant when making their reservation. This direct communication can clarify if any particular sets or experiences are being featured at the time of your visit.

Yazawa Japanese BBQ Reviews
We were visiting from out of state and were so excited to try the omakase wagyu!! We made reservations at 5 and were the first people in the restaurant on a Saturday so we were served pretty quick. The service and the quality of meat was absolutely incredible! I was satisfied with every bite of meat I had :) Our server graciously cooked our meat for us as we would have burned it lol, but he always put on a good show every time.SOO much meat was served for us only ordering the cheapest omakase option. (still quite expensive but definitely worth it!)We're so happy with our first time visit, I'm looking forward to returning when I'm back in LA!!
June 10 · kimAlways wanted to try Yazawa wagyu since forever... Finally decided to get it for our 12th anniversary and birthdays dinner. We got the A5 Wagyu Assorted Bento (added Tongue & Harami), Kalbi Bento, Garlic rice, Udon, OX Tail soup and salad, total come up to be $197. It is quite expensive, especially when the portions are not that big. The wagyu are superb, grilled to perfection. It doesn't really melt in your mouth, however, the taste is really delicious. The only regret I have would be the ox tail soup and salad. The soup is bland and hardly any meat, it is definitely a rip off. The salad is great, but for $13, i think it is a little too much. Will I dine there again? Probably for special occasions only.
July 21 · Julius MarzukiVery expensive, but you are getting what you are paying for. It's definitely not a meal you would do frequently, but for those times you feel like treating yourself this place has got to be up there. The staff is so nice and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. I went to Tokyo 5 years ago, and from what I remember this place matches what you'd expect from a high end Japanese BBQ over there.I look forward to coming back.
February 18 · Jonathan GuezPROS:- Excellent service (our server was pleasant and grilled all of our meat)- Excellent food (wagyu was fresh and juicy, grilled vegetables were perfectly cooked and sweet)- Overall ambiance of the restaurant was greatCONS:- The entrance (door) to this restaurant is a bit hard to find- The omakases do not come with rice, vegetables, or desserts. It is primarily only meatWould I come here again? YES
January 10 · Monyka LThe service is absolutely nice. I’d firstly recommend the beef tongue, crunchy but soft, very top. Secondly, the Yazawa Special Rice. It smells and tastes perfect, can eat it with soup and wasabi. The whole ‘rice & noodle’ list looks tasty, too.I’d not order the chef’s selection next time. They are all too rich for me. I don’t feel well after eating too oily. Two of the appetizer is raw and very salty. And I don’t like the egg yolk ‘bubble’ sauce of Yazawa-Yaki. IMA has the better egg yolk dipping sauce. However, drinks and tea are excellent.
