Kabuto Japanese Steak House at Lake Norman Reviews
They were rationing or something because we got little to no rice, a decent amount of noodles, steak was a good portion but shrimp was back to little to nothing. Waiters either had an attitude or had headphones in was dancing and singing while asking if we wanted drinks and didn’t even listen to us if we did want drinks. Left here hungry and now going to McDonalds after. Would not recommend to anyone till changes are made 1 out of 5 stars!!
May 12, 2025 · Elijah RamosOuch. Just waisted over $100 on this... Service is bad. We waited for our drinks forever. Then the orders were taken and my piece of steak never made it to the cooking table. Chicken was too dry. Vegetables were served at the very last... Who would want to eat them the very end? Service sucked and there was a piece hair in the soup. Beside that after dinner all your clothes will smell like you worked at the community cafeteria. Will not be back even if they pay for my dinner. Thank you
Dec 28, 2024 · Valeriya RonanBelieve the negative reviews. This was a horrible experience. The service was awful, wait staff were not attentive and quite unfriendly. I understand being busy and a delay in service, but the place was almost empty. I almost walked out as soon as I walked in because of the dreary feeling in the place. But, we never visited this location and wanted to give it a fair shot. The atmosphere was weird and uncomfortable and the restaurant itself could use serious updating. The bar in front of me was sticky and when I asked for it to be wiped, they brought a dirty towel, that looked like it cleaned the grill, to wipe my area. Again, I understand things are missed sometimes but please don’t bring a disgusting towel to wipe off where I’m supposed to eat.As far as the food… it was not up to par for the money spent. The chicken was crunchy, noodles and rice had so much pepper, myself and the woman beside me kept coughing. Neither of us ate anymore than 2 bites. The lettuce in my salad was brown and wilted. The food got two stars because the shrimp was actually decent. The soup was basically water with a hint of flavor. The chef, Daniel, was the only positive experience. He was entertaining, personable, and interacted. I think it’s the restaurant procedure to serve veggies last, which I don’t understand nor did I like.We will never visit or recommend this location to anyone. I will drive the extra distance and go to Charlotte or Pineville for a better experience and better food.
Apr 07, 2025 · Dawn TraffordOur experience was very blah this time. We visit here for kids birthdays, they love watching the chef cook. Our chef this time was AMAZING, but everything else was not! He got the 3 star not the other staff!Menu is very hard to understand the prices. And the manger was very rude upon asking about it.The floor was a mess and they only had two chefs rotating through. Not busy enough for that to been the excuse. The chicken was weird tasting and not normal texture. Do not know if it was cheap quality, lab grown, or older than should be. None of my family members ate it or enjoyed it.On top of the extra $5-6 a plate for it.I did not feel like I got $100 worth of food or experience and will not be going back to this location again. Too many other great restaurants in the area for this quality service and food.
Jan 19, 2024 · Rickie JenkinsI agree with previous reviews. The food was just okay. The service was poor. We waited and to ask for refills. They completely forgot the salads, when I asked the waiter just looked at me as if I was asking for something that wasn’t included. If you guys aren’t going to bring the salads, why ask our dressing order? The service could’ve been better. We went on a Saturday night around 6pm. The only positive part was the chef.
