Otaru Sushi & Handroll Bar Reviews
Hands down the best sushi restaurant in Dallas. Matches the flavor and experience of Tatsu but for an affordable price! I’m so glad this spot opened up in the neighborhood! The fish is always so fresh and so delicious. The hospitality is unmatched. I will miss this place so much when I move!!
May 24, 2025 · Micha DarbyOtaru is a great addition to Bishop Arts and offers quality sushi for the area. Space is nice and focus is on the sushi bar similar to other Dallas and Fort Worth hand roll/nigiri spots. Fish is quality that said cuts aren't as well prepared as a few others in town and rice fell apart on a couple of pieces. The portions were good but also things came at a higher price. I would go back especially if in the area.
Dec 30, 2024 · Matt PoluskiVery cute inside, Everything was delicious. The A5 Wagyu was so good my husband had two orders- I enjoyed mine with a piece of Uni.All of the drinks ( that we ordered ) had the perfect amount of alcohol, and not too sweet! We are sashimi people and all of their sashimi plates were so light & fresh- just how we like it!Foe anyone who likes things on the lighter side The Brussels sprouts had good flavor, but a little too heavy on the sauce for our taste.I would eat here everyday, if I could.
Feb 04, 2025 · S ThaiThis is a delicious and fun experience sushi bar right in the middle of Bishop arts. You are greeted and able to sit at the bar or at a table, seating is limited. Parking is limited, but there are plenty of spots all around Bishop arts, you are handed the menu & a paper where you are able to choose your quantity of Sushi roll, nigiri , or sashimi. The rainbow roll was my favorite and the A5 Wagyu Nigiri is very delicious
Apr 07, 2025 · Amanda VasquezThis place has quickly become a neighborhood favorite, and I’m thrilled they decided to open in the area. Steve is probably one of my favorite chefs here. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the chefs are both attentive and kind. Seating is very limited, so I suggest arriving early. While they don’t usually accept reservations, they will accommodate parties of 6 or more. However, I wouldn’t recommend bringing a large group, as the space is more suited for intimate gatherings—perfect for date nights, solo dining, or groups of up to four. Anything bigger can be a bit overwhelming for the small staff, though they still manage well. The food is freshly prepared right in front of you, so if you visit later in the evening, expect a bit of a wait. I’ve loved every dish I’ve tried so far, and their lychee martinis are a must-try. Don’t skip dessert either—it’s fantastic! 10/10, highly recommend!
